The hostel is located in a quiet side street in immediate vicinity of the Chihkan Tower. From it one can perfectly explore Tainan downtown on foot. The hostel consists of a front, middle, and back building. The entrance area has a laid-back vibe with a café-like atmosphere which then leads into the inner courtyard, from which one enters the bar counter check-in area. Afterwards there is another small yard before one enters the building with the rooms. The rooms go off from the staircase. Our room on the second floor was large with a stone floor, a comfortable bed, a sink in the room, and a private bathroom with shower and toilet. The room also has a fridge and TV. The room’s window gave a view of the very small street and smaller as well as larger buildings. The room was overall quiet and pleasant to stay in. Breakfast is served at the front building / first court-yard and changes daily. It is a set dish which is served after arrival. The hostel is quiet. The door to the room had tinted glass. Even though one can turn off the lights in the stairwell, the emergency exit lighting will stay lit. Thus some light will shine into the room...

Many of the architectural elements of the original building has been kept, enhanced by creative industrial elements and lots of antique furniture. The best part is the location, in the heart of the booming alleys of downtown Tainan and a 5 min walk to TCRC, a famed secret bar just...

Would have given it a 5 stars if not for the breakfast - coffee would have been a nice option and staff could have clarified what was going to be served. Similar to what was expressed in the earlier review, wasn't too pleased with a vegetable bun. Would give bfast a miss for many of the other options...
