I stayed at RF Hotel for the majority of my 19 day visit to Taiwan. I stayed in multiple rooms throughout this time and had many interactions with the staff, as you probably would living in a place for so long. I want to say that the staff were very accomodating, especially when I woke up one night to a bug on my leg. They quickly moved me to another room in the middle of the night with no problem. I never had that issue again in any of the other rooms I stayed in. I stayed at another hotel around the area and I can say that the air and humidity of the rooms here were much better. The staff at the front desk were absolutely incredible. Forgive me if I only spoke in English to you, perhaps that was a bit rude and unbecoming of a good traveler to your wonderful nation. Not only were the staff accomodating with Hotel needs, but also for planning purposes. I have to give credit for a very sweet and caring young lady who planned the remainder of my trip and suggested that because of a lack of rooms in RF, that I might consider a hotel closer to the airport, which I acted on. In addition, there was a gentleman at the front desk who, knowing that I needed a room with two separate matresses, but that as a result of scarcity, I had to book two rooms with one mattress, kept me on his radar and, even though it would be less money for the hotel, let me know when there was a cancellation to save me money. If that doesn't speak to how much they care about you and your visit, I don't know what does. It was also absolutely wonderful to have a lobby to get away from family from time to time and to have your own space, especially when I was packed in my room. There are a variety of tour and suggestions in the lobby and this hotel can serve as a central hub, similar to the way Taipei Main Station serves as a hub of transport, for your stay in Taipei. There is a great pepper cake street store closeby and I highly recommend the Chinese restaurant across the street where you can get a tasty fried chicken with rice, free miso soup, and other vegetables for a reasonable price of 270, I think. I went there many times. Also family mart is open 24 hours right next door in case you need anything. The only drawback I would say is that the elevator door closes to fast and doesn't respond to hand waving so you might get clipped :/ I also had some trouble with the safes, but that was addressed promptly, though a bit inconveniently. The prices can get a bit high, but overall I would say that they are very reasonable especially if you are traveling on a budget and the hotel is not at max capacity. You can leave your luggage there and pick it up on the day you check out at any time. This area is LGBTQ Friendly, so be prepared for that. Good luck and have fun. You also won't get a lot of good views, but you're in a densely populated city anyways so unless you're on the 20th floor, which they don't have because they only have 8 floors, you'll probably just see a concrete building. Throw on your VPN, because when I was connected to the WiFi, someone wanted to get into my RobinHood account. They have free umbrellas for guests to use on the first floor which was very helpful during our stay. You can ask for someone to take you around on a tour. We met a good man who took us around and was very polite and caring. His car was very comfortable and luxurious. He seemed to know many people around town. This is a great option though the rooms can be a bit cramped. I would say that best qualities of this hotel are the staff, who will make you feel very loved, the location, the lobby, the air quality in the rooms, the comfort of the beds, the price, and the people you will come across, whether you talk to...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed here during our trip to Taipei for New Year's 2025. This hotel exceeded our expectations. Its location was very convenient, situated within a short walking distance from the Taipei Main Station, Ximending walking street, and several key bus stations. This made exploring the city very easy. The surrounding area was had several cafes, restaurants, and shopping opportunities, offering endless options for dining and entertainment.||The staff were very friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to address our requests. We were particularly grateful for their assistance in registering us for the Taipei City's New Year Rock Event as a part of the lottery we had won. The charming Christmas decorations at reception created a warm atmosphere.||Although compact, the room was thoughtfully designed to maximize space and felt surprisingly spacious. It was impeccably clean and well-equipped with all the necessary amenities. We appreciated the complimentary snacks and coffee in the lobby, and the thoughtful gesture of providing cup noodles and hot chocolate sachets in our room on New Year's Eve.||The online photos simply don't do justice to this hotel. We were truly impressed and would happily stay here again on our next...
Read moreAbsolutely loved my stay here during my 5-day visit to Taipei! The location couldn't be better with it being close to the main station, metro lines and multiple bus stops. Ximen is within walking distance, which was handy for the lantern festival. And there is a FamilyMart just downstairs with an international ATM.
The staff are super friendly and helpful. They can store your luggage if you arrive early, as well as at checkout. There is a common area behind the reception with some free snacks and drinks.
The room was very spacious and one wall was all windows (a lot of rooms in Taipei are no-window within the same budget). The bathroom was large as well, and all areas were clean. My room was cleaned by the staff every day, new towels were provided and the bed was freshened up, even when I never turned on the light for housekeeping. WiFi worked perfectly throughout my entire stay. There was a minifridge in the room to keep some drinks and snacks cold, but the hotel does also provide two water bottles for free in the room. Even though I was only on the third floor, I never experienced excessive noise other than what you'd expect being in a city.
I would definitely stay here again and would recommend this hotel to other...
