My Stove at Songjiang Nanjing Station — Restaurant in Zhongshan District

Bad customer service and taste. I had oyster noodle but had to leave out all the dish since I couldn’t eat at all. Taste was too greasy and salty for both of our dishes (fried chicken and oyster noodle) and price was too high for the quality of the food.

Besides, at first we were given the other receipt which was 6700 Taiwanese dollars (nearly 220 us dollars). I doubt the owner does not know that two people ate such amount of food, and I am suspecting of frauding us at first. After we realized, the staff apologized and gave us a new bill but another thing was that the credit card was not accepted. It has a low rating score but the food is top notch. Better than many highly ranked restaurants. Stand out dishes were the double thread ( sliced liver and kidney) with scallions, the braised pork rice( redefines pork umami), century egg in hot sauce ( my wife preferred it with sweet ginger), sauteed beans with deep fried intestines ( mouth feels was so good). Local draft beer paired well with the food. Only disappointment was the 3 cup chicken which though well caramelised lacked flavour( perhaps we were too full). Service was friendly and very personable. You can bring your own alcohol for a small charge. Caveat. This place only takes cash. Prices are highish for a sidewalk restaurant but taken into context, it's cheap for a Michelin...

From the United States, visiting Taipei ….Read reviews before I left and couldn’t wait to try this restaurant Ironically, it was in the alley adjacent to my hotel… It did NOT disappoint I have to start with our server, “Ray”… it was like there was no language barrier at all his English was so good The suggestions he made for us were spot on Picture menu was very helpful The braised pork lived up to its reputation The clams in brown sauce with Thai chilies, stole the show Two greens dishes were just lovely Red pork dish was the best ….. so tender and juicy as can be Worth traveling halfway around...
