A mixed bag experience. The location of the hotel is nice and away from the main market. The service at the front desk is quite unimpressive. The hotel uses the guard outside the door as the bell boy/ girl as well. Most of the time, you don't see more than 1 person in the lobby, and at times, it was unattended as well.
The room service is quite mixed as well. The charges for the services are not really declared. Sometime if the charged are declared, the staff will come and ask for 2000 to 3000 service charge from the guest, which are not being charged by the hotel, but a forced tip of some sort, without informing the guest.
The gym is quite small, quite dirty, and the hygiene of the whole place is quite questionable and place smells. The message room is also not inviting and charges USD50 for an hour, which is quite high for what you are getting.
The breakfast had about 5 to 6 main dishes, which are mostly the same and the taste is quite ordinary and there is nothing to talk about. Fresh fruits are a positive. It's best getting some eggs and toast.
Overall, it is not a bad hotel, but the service and hygiene of the hotel needs a lot of focus. It is not value for money. You don't get a Wow factor.
I stayed as it was arranged by my organizer's otherwise I would have opted for some...
Read moreI initially had a pleasant stay, but the experience was completely ruined on the day of my departure. I had cleared all my bills the night before, yet the front desk staff called me repeatedly the next morning, insisting there was an unpaid amount. Despite explaining that everything had been settled, I was forced to return to the hotel due to his persistence, even though I was already on my way to the airport.
In a rush, I paid the supposed “pending” amount. However, upon reviewing the bill shortly after, I realized I had been charged for another guest’s room. When I called to inform the receptionist, his only response was that he would “check with the other room” and could only act after that. No immediate solution or apology was offered.
To make matters worse, he asked me to return the bill via the driver so he could then charge the correct guest—something that should never have happened in the first place. This felt highly unprofessional and like a clear attempt to cover up an internal mistake or, worse, a scam.
This experience was frustrating and deeply disappointing. I would caution future guests to double-check their bills and remain alert, especially...
Read moreSomeone at work booked this on my behalf and I failed to check it out in advance or check other options. My heart sunk as I walked in as I realised it was very dated and the stay would likely be awful. It ended up not being too bad all things considered, but is not "nice". It is very dated and needs a refurb. The rooms are massive but not nice with old and tired decor. Cleanliness wasn't great but also wasn't terrible. Hot water availability not too bad, and internet surprisingly good. The bed was hard but quite comfortable. Breakfast was a complete disaster - not open on time, and it's one of those awful places where they lazily cook everything the night before then put it in the chafing dishes to warm up in the morning. So the food is not fresh but worse, if you're early to breakfast it's also cold. The coffee is also terrible. I am glad I only stayed for 2 nights, and the location is good for business. Overall, it was ok for a secondary town in Africa, but there must surely be better options...
