Hiking and Safari Tanzania — Local services in Arusha

We had a safari with Baraka. I think his courage to be self-employed in a market with so many large agencies as competitors is very good. We had a very good vehicle with a roof top and great Lodges with breakfast and dinner, and a Lunchbox at the safari. The best Lodge is "Into the wild Africa"!

The Guide speaks not so much but is reliable and friendly. We had beautiful moments on the safari that are an experience of a lifetime. In the Serengeti, unfortunately, we often rode the same routes, as other routes are probably not allowed either, which is fine to respect the beautiful nature.

On the penultimate evening Baraka offered us to visit Lake Manyara the next day for 200 USD. That could have been explained more transparently at the beginning of the trip, maybe we would have decided to spend one more day in the Serengeti to look for the wildebeest migration or just planned something else. So we had to go to Lake Manyara otherwise our day would have been wasted.

What is also somewhat unusual is that the guides in Arusha always want all the money immediately upon arrival, of course without a receipt, invoice or similar. In a region with no real rules and laws, that's a bit scary for tourists. In our culture, you get the service first and then you pay for it.

Safaris are high-priced trips, so your customers can also demand high service. Some tips for a good service: Money is not the most important thing Make sure that you don't see the same places too often On the long drives you can also tell a bit more about the country, the culture, the parks etc. Try to do not 100 % the same safari like the others

Recommendation A safari with Sospeter Baraka is a real awesome experience! He is dedicated for taking care of his guests in every regard and he is an outstanding scout of wild life.

We are absolutely stunned when he was spotting animals with pure eyesight which we had trouble seeing with our binoculars! Hence, we saw all the wild animals we were looking for.

We went on a 5-day safari with Baraka early in March 2022. The safari with him was such a great experience. He is a very safe driver, always friendly, in a good mood and very experienced. We went to 3 safari parks with Baraka and he always knew a lot about the animals, plants and the secret spots. We where there with our 4 year old son.
