The Villa Maua is a hidden gem in the middle of Arusha Central City. When you walk in the gate it feels like you have entered a little oasis in the middle of the bustling city. I had already booked an AirBnB but had I known about this place first, I would have stayed here instead. I felt calm the minute I walked on to the property. And the food? Yum! |We went for a family dinner (before some family left to return home) and then we went back for breakfast and then lunch a couple of days later, because the food and experience were so nice. It is serene with absolutely amazing food. I had the chicken stew with coconut sauce (a Swahili dish) and had to order it again, it was just THAT good. Also the fresh juices. Read moreArriving here feels like coming home. This charming boutique hotel has just 8 rooms, exuding the character of a tropical house with lush green vegetation, a cozy patio, various small outdoor sitting areas, and a compact pool. The service is exceptional - the staff are dedicated to making you feel comfortable and at ease. The rooms are spacious and, like every corner of the hotel, well decorated. The beds are comfy. We enjoyed a few meals here, and they were delicious. The hotel offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The drink prices are reasonable for international tourists - a 500ml beer costs just $3. Conveniently located on a quiet street, the hotel is within walking distance (about 10 minutes) of the Maasai Craft Market. One downside is that the shower doesn't have enough water pressure and hot water...

What arrived was honestly terrible — the bread was completely stale and falling apart. I asked if it could be toasted and was told that it couldn’t be done, which I find unacceptable in any proper establishment. It was truly disappointing and left a bad impression. I could not eat half of it. The staff was friendly and I would like to also recognize the waiter who was also bothered by the whole situation and tried to...
