We booked a family room with one double bed and one single bed through Agoda prepaid 2 nights over new year. When we got there they had given our room to a walk in.... Apparently they don't check the online bookings often enough. The older woman then showed us to a double bunk bed room on the ground floor that was filthy, absolutely reeked and had a bunch of random stuff stored in it. I was not impressed and the room was unbearable to be in. The mold and rank smell was overwhelming! After several complaints that were blown off with an insinsere "sorry" it's not our fault (who's fault is it then) a younger woman named Sarya came with me to see our room. It smelled so bad she didn't even want to go all the way in and agreed it was unacceptable. After having to argue with the owner on our behalf she put a single mattress on the floor of another room for our daughter with a double bed for us to stay in. The beds are hard as a rock and the toilet bubbled up everytime someone else flushed a toilet and it still smelled rank in the bathroom so she left us a can of air freshener but anything was better than the other room. Sarya saved our stay but we will never use the Ch Guesthouse again. Really too bad as the location is great. If they actually cared at all about their property or clients they would be sitting on a gold mine. There is an elderly dog that lives here and hangs out in the lobby that could probably see a vet for some uncomfortable looking skin issues and the place smells strongly of dog urine... Another strike against...
Read moreI have stayed here before when in Bangkok and will always go back. The Family who own it are lovely people, very kind and always go out of their way to make sure everything is ok and I was looked after very well. They even went as far as too show me how to get to places via local transport and how much it should really cost,(Local prices, not Foreigner prices), if i had to take taxi etc.The Staff are very helpful and polite too.I was made to feel welcome and part of the Family and that's a big plus for me.I also never had any problems there at all.||I met some cool travelers and made great Friends there as well.||It is conveniently close to Khao San Rd,which we all know is a hive of activity, but far enough away from all the noisy Foreigners who go drinking there.||It's cheap, clean and basic,(breakfast included in the price). If you're a Seasoned Vet traveler/Backpacker looking for Budget accommodation and not 5 Stars, near the action then...
Read moreAbsolute sh!thole! Booked a single room and pictures don't show that the wall nearest to the corridor has sections missing for mosquito panels. The walls are also thin so everything can be heard, people talking, walking past, God knows what else if you're unlucky. You're at the mercy of whether people are going to be decent or as*holes! Bathroom and toilet aren't that clean and no toilet paper provided. Thin towel provided by no sheet to cover you at night if needed. Stayed at same price or cheaper places and got better value. You also can leave your key but turns out they just leave it on the side so when the desk is unattended anyone could just help themselves. Wifi was better in the reception....
