We stayed 2 nights transiting through Bangkok. The hotel is about 10 min walking distance to khaosan road. It’s a slightly quieter road with many amenities nearby, cute cafes, bars and galleries within 10-15 min walk. The decor is modern mixed with Thai vintage, adding character. Interesting use of foliage, colours and ambient lighting add a peaceful calm feeling in the middle of busy Bangkok. The pool is wonderful after a hot day. The duvet covered beds are comfortable, and decent toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel , hand soap bar). We also could get a free travel size hand sanitiser spray at reception which was appreciated. Our Room was on an upper floor with private balcony. Bedroom and bathroom are spacious and clean, with a decent size wardrobe. We also had a wonderfully powerful hot water rainshower. Loved the balcony overlooking garden and pool, and comfortable vintage wooden chair and table. The mini fridge was useful for keeping our drinks cold, and we appreciated the Nescafé instant coffee and kettle to make a coffee for an early checkout . They also provided free travel size alcohol hand spray. 2 small bottles of drinking water per day were supplied in the room. The self service washing machine (provide your own laundry soap) was convenient (30 thb per load, takes 30 min). There is also a dryer for a separate fee which we didn’t need to use. At checkin the hotel supplied discount vouchers for the cafe downstairs which has great cold brew iced coffee. The Wi-Fi and quiet AC worked well. Daily housekeeping provided on request (between 2-4 pm).
a couple small improvements is that it would be good to have the AC extractor vent blow hot air away from the balcony so we could enjoy it. Also we had to pay 1000 baht cash key deposit on arrival , which we got back at checkout. It was in fine print on our booking confirmation but not obvious. Would have been better to have it also emailed as part of confirmation or welcome message, and option to pay by card instead , as we didn’t want to have to be left with baht when leaving Thailand. When AC is on, it’s too hot to sit on the beautiful balcony. The wardrobe light was constantly on as the switch was broken & wardrobe has no door (covered by a curtain) so we couldn’t get the room dark to sleep better (I had my own eye...
Read moreUnfortunately we had mixed feelings about this hotel. Firstly the positive sides of our experience.
The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. Also the location of the hotel is good. It is on walking distance from the Khaosan Road, Royal Palace and Wat Saket (to name a few highlights). Also the swimming pool was nice.
We were less satisfied about the following things: there were no water bottles provided. While in Cambodia also in 2 star accommodations we got always free water bottles in our room. there were no smaller towels provided for drying your hands after washing them for instance. Only large towels were provided for after showering. there was no small refrigerator (honestly this is just a nice to have) in the room, although it sounded like there was a very big one in the room. Funny enough the lady behind the desk when checking out asked if we consumed something from the mini bar. We were surprised, and responded that there was not even one in our room.
The biggest disadvantage and complaint is that we had a lot of resonating noise from the condenser of the AC units that are mounted outside on our hotel room (it therefore sounded like we had a big refrigerator in our room). Therefore we couldn’t sleep comfortably during the night. We have reported it to the hotel staff. They let somebody checked it. But they didn’t solve it properly. Placing a few bricks in the condenser is not solving the problem. So when you stay in this hotel and you get room 114, ask for a different room immediately if you appreciate a...
Read moreWe stayed at this hotel as a family and were overall very satisfied. The spacious family room with a beautiful river view, stylish design, ambient lighting around the property and pool, and friendly, English-speaking staff made our stay comfortable.||The hotel’s designer did a great job— the interiors are sooo cozy. However, some execution details could be improved. For example, the room lighting was quite dim, which caused some inconvenience, and there was a gap between the shower door, allowing water to leak out.||Additionally, the hotel isn’t adult-only, and in our family room (215), wooden floors with insufficient soundproofing led to complaints from neighbors downstairs. Despite our efforts to minimize noise, a family vacation with children naturally brings some activity. When we checked out at 2 a.m. (with prior notice to the reception), we tried to be as quiet as possible, but unfortunately, received direct remarks from the neighbors below. The squeaky main door added to the inconvenience.||Overall, the hotel is well-suited for family vacations, and despite these points, our rating remains high. It would be great if the hotel could enhance soundproofing and address the lighting for guests’...
