We’ve been to Bangkok a few times and just wanted a quick stop somewhere cheap for the night after arriving back from Kanchanaburi. This guesthouse came up as one of the cheapest for a couple (£8 for one night) and the reviews look pretty good however, this was not for us AT ALL.||The building is pretty big so I don’t know if all rooms are the same? If they are I am so baffled as to how the reviews are so high. ||The room itself was very dark. Really odd decor it just felt like an abandoned building that had a few pieces of furniture thrown in. We had a “double bed” (two twins pushed together) and the sheets were stained along with two kid like blankets. The bed itself was SO uncomfortable. We are used to firm mattresses in Thailand but this was something else, during a night of tossing and turning sweating from the lack of air and lack of breeze from the small fan, the sheets came off and revealed a mattress that is basically a gym matt, rock solid. The floor tiles are literally like concrete, my husband dropped his phone and it shattered to pieces - fab!! ||The bathroom was so so small. Again, we are used to usual Thai bathrooms, small, shower above toilet - fine! But my husband couldn’t even stand up to shower properly and even I kept banging into the wall or door while trying to wash and I’m 5ft 4. No hot water although the room was so hot we didn’t need it. ||Location is ok depends what you want to see i guess but it’s close to Khao San Road and also really close to the palace if you are wanting to visit there! Although if you are wanting this area I’d recommend The Oasis Hostel. If you are looking to stay near Sukhumvit/lumpini Park/sathorn then I’d say stay at PanPan hostel, it’s such a good price and the best hostel we’ve stayed at.||We didn’t eat at the restaurant at Prasuri so cannot comment on that.||We found the staff were absolutely lovely however and so do feel bad writing such a negative review and understand that this is a very cheap guesthouse so shouldn’t expect the ritz but we didn’t think it’d be like this especially after all the reviews below. I personally would not recommend staying here and I’m so glad we only booked the one night, pay an extra £2/£3 and get a lot more for your...
Read moreVery good quiet place. If you are looking for a cheap room to sleep in and leave your things in this is the place. ||Room:|We had a room for 3 with a private bathroom and a fan. The shower and the toilet are not separated by a shower curtain or something similar it is just all in one room basically. The beds are nothing special i would recommend you bring at least your own pillow case.||Staff and food:|The staff is very nice and their english is ok. The place is run by a family and they are all very helpful. They serve food in the looby there is no room service as far as I am aware of. When you sit down someone brings you a menu, a piece of paper and a pen. You are supposed to write on the paper what you want and then give it to them. The food is cheap and pretty good we ate here for breakfast and for lunch. They also offer shakes which are really fresh.||Location:|The location is right in the middle of everything. You are a 15min walk away from Khao San road and 25-30 from the Grand Palace, Wat Pho and other temples.|If you want a really good massage I recommend Massage in Garden(google for location) . It is close by and very good.||Overall:|It's a good place with friendly staff, good food and great location. We are staying here again on our way back home and probably also if I come to...
Read moreI would say this is probably the worse hotel Ive been to in my life. We arrived here in the middle of the night. The owner gave us a room on the third floor and when we entered the room the smell of the room was super horrible. The smell itself came from the bathroom. Smells like a dead rat and made me almost puke. We had to turn on the fan (there was an AC but did not work at all) and the smell just goes circling around the room and at the end we had to sleep with the smell since we were too tired to get another hotel. The third the bed was super dusty like nobody have been slept on there for like century once I slept on it my body was itchy all night from the dust snd probably from the small insects on the bed. Dont ask about the bathroom, you had to hold your breath just to go for pee. So pity that this hotel was in the city but very low...
