Mapping Hostel — Hotel in Chiang Mai Province

The common spaces are nice, there are tables and a couch. The location was ok, it's a 30 minutes walk to the old city. In the hostel there are also laundry machines and a lot of drying racks outside, as well as a luggage storage service. For the price I paid I can't really complain, it can be a really good and cheap solution for a single night. I will describe my experience anyway because I would have known before to book. The hostel is neglected. The garden is dirty, in lack of maintenance, which is sad because it has really good potential. Ours was a double room, but it was so small we could barely fit in together. There was a little table with a chair to put stuff on but there were not hangers for clothes inside the room, so it was very uncomfortable because we had to put everything on the floor. Bedsheets were already stained when we arrived, and curtains were very dirty. To go upstairs you must take the shoes off, but the floor and the stairs were very dusty. Unfortunately during the second night we spent there we had a bad experience with insects inside...

Mapping Hostel is the kind of hostel that makes you love living in Chiang Mai. Renting a tent there for only 100 Bahts a night is clearly the best option for an amazing river view every morning (take care for the mosquitos tho ahah). The hostel is well situated, right next to a free skatepark if you’re into skateboards, not so far from the center and close to local markets ! Usually the vibe is very young and chilled, expect little parties or at least reunions and talking at nights, and be ready to enjoy the nice and comfortable bamboo huts on the riverside ;) Employees are so friendly and I wanna thank them again for the amazing stay ! Do not hesitate to book there if you’re looking for meeting interesting people and feeling relaxed to enjoy the city and the everyday life ;) thanks again mapping hostel, so far the best hostel...

Was in not a bad location and price was reasonable but that's as good as it got.

Firstly the room was dirty the mattress was completely solid, the bathrooms were disgusting they looked neglected as there were open blades left on the sink.

We did have a incident where in our private room we were locked in from the outside by someone who thought they were funny, luckily we managed to get out, this could have turned serious if there was a fire hazard or if one of us had fallen ill, I messaged the property to make them aware of the issue as there was no staff on site at the time, but they never responded and still haven't as I am writing...
