I recently had the pleasure of staying at Tamarind Village, and I cannot express enough how exceptional my experience was. From the moment I arrived, I was enveloped in the warm embrace of Northern Thai hospitality, and I was immediately captivated by the sheer beauty of this place.
The hospitality at Tamarind Village is truly second to none. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure that every guest feels like royalty. Their genuine smiles, attentive service, and willingness to accommodate every request made my stay unforgettable. Whether it was arranging a special meal, offering local insights, or simply checking in to ensure my comfort, their dedication to guest satisfaction was remarkable.
The surroundings of Tamarind Village are nothing short of breathtaking. Nestled in the heart of the Old City of Chiang Mai, this resort is a sanctuary of natural beauty. The lush gardens, sense of serenity, and traditional architecture create an atmosphere of tranquility that is simply unparalleled. Every corner of this resort exudes a sense of calm and connection with nature, making it a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.
What struck me most about Tamarind Village is how it embodies the essence of Northern Thailand in style, grace, and beauty. The design, decor, and cultural influences in every detail of this place are a testament to the rich heritage of the region. From the intricately carved wooden fixtures to the locally inspired cuisine, you can truly immerse yourself in the authentic Northern Thai experience here.
Tamarind Village is a hidden gem that surpasses all expectations. If you're looking for a place that combines exceptional hospitality, stunning natural surroundings, and the true essence of Northern Thailand, look no further. I wholeheartedly recommend Tamarind Village for a truly unforgettable and culturally enriching experience. My stay here was nothing short of magical, and I can't...
Read moreWe stayed as a family of 4 occupying two interconnecting rooms during December 2024. First of all the check-in and staff attention when you arrive is good. They make you feel valued and simplify the check in process so you can relax quickly after travelling. The food and service at the restaurant is generally good, although I found it was quite expensive (For context we stayed at 5 star hotels throughout this trip so this view on prices is in comparison to eating in other similar rated hotels). We needed to pay for the Gala Christmas Eve dinner as it was compulsory and whilst it was overall nice, the prices charged dont reflect as good value to what is offered. Having paid about £70 each for dinner, on the Gala night, they even charged extra for water which is petty and a needless spolier for the overall experience. The second issue I have is with the rooms themselves - these are expensive 4 star rooms and they are very dark - dark furniture, few windows to let any light in nand those they have are covered with curtains and generally not rooms that you want to spend time in. Even in the morning we had to have lights on it was that dark. Third, whilst there is a pool, it is not heated and because it's mostly in the shade, the sun also doesnt warm the pool so it's very cold to swim in. We saw it being used very little by guests. They could transform this by installing solar heating for the pool and make it much more of a useful feature of the hotel. Finally the massages we had on the first night, but very expensive - to be precise for exactly th same massage it costs 5 times more than you pay a proper massage shop just a 2 min walk away. So overall an ok 4 star hotel, with good service but not good...
Read moreQuite disappointed.
-: First, the room. It’s small and dim on the ground floor, with a window which you almost cannot open. Thus it’s like you paid 150euro for a no window room. Think about it. I care about the aesthetic of course but I care more about my room. The details of the bathroom do stand up to a close look. Aesthetic is one thing and the materials and the finish is another. (On a small note I had nightmare that night. They put an ancient kid’s hat on display in the room which I find quite creepy… I don’t know if there’s a correlation but that was just my personal experience…)
-: pool is lovely to look at but no one ever swim inside. You’re in front of the restaurant / terrasse and there were quite a lot of guests. So you don’t feel like it. It’s a decoration.
-: lack of privacy. Adding to the above, since there were quite many guests, it doesn’t feel very private. Unfortunately I thought it was. The design definitely gave me a false impression. There were some guests taking photos in the garden for a long time which was in front of our room.
+: The service is professional, the breakfast is great, a whole variety of choices.
Conclusion: I’d much prefer to stay in a real, authentic Lana style house with a reasonable price (considering it’s Thailand) than in this “boutique” hotel. However that was a last minute booking so I wouldn’t have done much better. Attached was a few accommodations I lived in during my stay in Thailand. All of them have a feeling to it. This hotel, however, lacks it. But of course, a lot of boutique hotels are like this.
To improve: I think the hotel can maybe think about improving its rooms. At least to the standards of its price (we’re in Thailand not in...
