We have eaten here many times and always had great food, good service. We live in Chiang Mai 8 years now. Tonight was supposed to be special and we brought a friend. We each had our appetizer and tow of us got our main entree but my husband did not get his and our friend and I were finished with our food and I asked the waiter where my husband's meal was and did the kitchen forget. A few minutes passed and I told another staff what happened ( I speak Thai) and to cancel the meal as we were ready to go home. My husband asked for the check and we paid making sure we were not charged for the missing meal. We were not offered a free dessert or drink or given anything to compensate for my husband not eating a dinner. I explained to a higher staff that we live 8 years in Chiang Mai and ate here many times, He smiled and was happy. then I explained what happened and that we will never come again. These things happen but my assumption is that they believe we are tourists like everyone else and we will not be back to Thailand, If they treated us like they do at many other restaurants in Chiang Mai, we would have received an apology at least. There is no point in typing this in Thai since most of the diners are not Thai, it is sad the staff are not trained by management to offer an apology. Our friend wanted us to NOT tip and take the tip off the bill but we paid with a credit card and felt the wait staff should not suffer because of the kitchen's failure to...
Read moreWe ordered pork ribs and sea bass. The ribs were almost entirely fat and the meat that was in there was tough. The sea bass was overcooked... Why fry fish at all, can't you just steam it so you can taste it and not just the oil and breading... The tamarind sauce was the best part of the meal. If you want to go to this place I recommend the cocktails, they were great. The service is good, but the staff doesn't understand English well, which is strange, because all the visitors are tourists. I asked if there was a side dish for my fish, because it wasn't on the menu, but the waiter didn't understand me and I had to explain to him for a long time what I wanted, but he still didn't...
Read moreSaw this place on Mark Weins’ YouTube channel. I almost never give a place a full five stars but dining at this restaurant was truly memorable. The restaurant is located inside a hotel and poolside. I went on a warm November evening so outdoor dining was an option but ate indoors. The atmosphere inclusive of the live music and delicious vegan food made this the highlight of our trip to Chiang Mai and for that matter Thailand in terms of dining. Ordered the pomelo salad, avocado and lychee curry, and the kitchen was willing to make khao soi even though it was off the menu. Nice portion size, yummy food in a romantic or date...
