We were taken to the hotel early in the morning, until the agreed check-in time we waited in the lobby. We were greeted warmly and offered a ginger drink. Found the opportunity to prepare a room and settle earlier. Number we got is not the best, of course. Our friends were unhappy and they were resettled, but we remained. There is very little light in the room, it’s impossible to read with all the lights on, so I read from the tablet. (But this is not important for everyone). The room is spacious, the third bed, which was not originally, did not create problems. Next to the balcony there is a niche with an extra bed, which is not designed for sleeping, but ... say, for relaxing. Not a very convenient piece for rest with the sons - the room and the bathroom are shared by glass, covered with blinds. As you understand, comfortable conditions have been created for the couple. The balcony overlooks the restaurant, but the noise and smells do not bother, because the wall was built and in front of the balcony an artificial reservoir with running water was made. This worried me at first, because everyone is afraid of the infection that tropical mosquitoes tolerate, but the problem is solved simply - the reservoir is inhabited by frogs. Mosquitoes saw only one and immediately nailed. But! The frogs sing in the evening, there are several kinds of them, the little ones enjoy chirping like birds, the middle ones snarl comfortably, but on the third night there are terrible sounds. It turned out to be the moans of the bullfrog. Not all survived, the neighbors because of this and moved, but it seemed to us even funny. The frogs were hunted by some birds, similar to miniature forty, lizards with a metallic sheen ... Who is annoyed by such unity with nature, do not come here, but we were interested. Daily maid service, change the bed, towels. The bathroom has the minimum necessary stuff, you only need to bring a toothbrush and toothpaste (or buy). The room has a kettle, every day they put a couple of bags of instant coffee, dry cream, sugar and tea. Put a bottle of drinking water. Thanks to our housekeepers, trying to do something for our convenience, even without a request. Hotel dressing gowns and umbrellas hang in the closet. But we never needed umbrellas, although we rested during the rainy season. Whether there were any global problems with the climate, or we were so lucky, but over the entire period we never got wet, something unintelligible dripped four times fifteen minutes. (Houses in Siberia continuously flooded) They took a rental car with friends, as a taxi is expensive on the island. We ordered the car in Orange car phuket, the service of the guys is impressive, of course - we were pleasantly surprised by the service and the car itself (they...
Read moreThis hotel was honestly so disappointing, comparing to the photos on the website and the expectations that were set, arriving at the hotel immediately brought my expectations to the ground.
We were only given one key for the room and when we entered, it was nothing like the pictures on the website, the room was badly maintained, the view was of a tree [which blocked any chance of having a view], the air conditioning had to be on the lowest temperature and at full blast to even get the room a little cold. The room was so barren and there was a lack of power sockets in the room, we spent the majority of our 3 days there living off portable chargers and power banks.
On the second day of staying in the hotel, we were rudely awakened at 8 in the morning by a constant banging of the door by the housekeeper who then opened our door to check if there was anyone in the room, after realising we were in the room and in bed, she proceeds to not close the door properly and walks away, leaving the door ajar and thankfully my girlfriend decided to get up and check, if not, who knows who could have just waltzed into our room.
On that same day, after coming back from our day out around Kata, when we got to the room, as I was closing the door, OUR DOOR HANDLE FELL OFF. Honestly, it is appalling how horribly maintained the entire hotel is, our towels were never changed, there was only one small mirror in the whole room, the toilet by the pool was anything but cleaned. One of the nights that we came back we even saw the security guard taking a nap on the sofa in the lobby area [legs up, hugging a pillow, sound asleep].
If for some reason you still decide to stay here, find somewhere else to have your breakfast, the food choices were slim, and even then, looking at the small selection available, the food that I had on the plane looked better. Coffee tasted burnt, tea was bland, milk tasted funny, eggs were dry and the list can keep on going.
The only reason why this wasn't a one star review is that I truly believe this hotel has the potential, with the wonderful location overlooking the sea from a high point, to the multiple pools. I really hope that this hotel makes some improvements, and I think the first place to start is...
Read moreI recently stayed at the Andaman Cannacia Resort in Phuket, and unfortunately, my experience was far from enjoyable. I rate this hotel only 1 star due to several significant issues that greatly impacted my stay. This hotel is far from a 4 Star rating - and from my experience would struggle to hit a 3 Star rating.
First and foremost, the resort was in dire need of repairs. From the moment I stepped into my room, it was evident that the property lacked proper maintenance. The walls showed signs of wear and tear, and the overall ambiance felt outdated and neglected. It was disappointing to see such a lack of attention to detail, especially considering the resort's supposed 4 Star rating?
Furthermore, the absence of hot water was a major inconvenience during my stay. After a long day of exploring the beautiful Phuket, I was looking forward to a refreshing hot shower, but to my dismay, the water temperature was a gamble at best throughout my entire stay. This issue made it difficult to relax and enjoy the accommodations fully. The television provided in the room is slightly larger than a laptop screen. Not only was it tiny but also malfunctioning. It had a poor picture and sound quality making it nearly impossible to watch anything comfortably. Another major disappointment was the breakfast selection offered at the resort. The options were limited and lacked variety. Whether you were a health-conscious traveler or someone who enjoyed indulging in a hearty breakfast, the choices provided were meager at best. It felt as though the resort did not prioritize the quality of the dining experience - and it was infested with wasps. A few fans over the food area could have helped?
In conclusion, my stay at the Andaman Cannacia Resort in Phuket was nothing short of disappointing. The lack of maintenance, absence of hot water, malfunctioning television, and unsatisfactory breakfast selection significantly impacted the overall quality of my visit. I cannot recommend this hotel to fellow travelers. I understand some people are on a budget, but if you can afford a little extra stay somewhere else. I would strongly advise management to address these issues promptly to enhance their...
