Blue Palm Kata Resort — Hotel in Karon

Don’t let a picture of a nice pool fool you when checking this place via booking.com or other hotel booking platform. Stayed 3 nights on this dump. Was placed on the worse room even though we paid for a pool view room. I tried to bartender with the staff to move us to a better room and when I threaten to leave a bad review on booking.com due to the issues I brought it up with the room, they cancelled my reservation so there’s no record of my booking and therefore no chance to leave a review of my stay. Leaving this review here on google with the hopes that people read and see it and maybe make a better and smarter decision. Room had mold in the washroom. Old and crumbling curtains which offered little privacy 3 side window walls. Shower was mediocre and weak and air conditioner impossible to control. Either too cold or not cold. Breakfast was super ordinary and you had to go to a restaurant that is not part of the hotel. You would get a voucher. Had to pay extra for everything including an additional cup of coffee. Staff of the restaurant were rude as well. I brought all the issues to management including the fact that they purposely cancelled my booking to avoid bad rep. Location is ok. Be prepared to be harassed indefinitely by peddlers and massage parlors all the way to the beach. Highly recommend you move away and book some place else.

I came to see you(owner) and the staff and gave you plenty of opportunities to rectify and try to please a frustrated customer. You just didn't care. I am hoping that this bad review does hurt your business as much as it made me angry about being exploited and being made a fool.

Blue palm kata is a very deluxe and relaxing hotel, that I would recommend to people going to Kata beach.

Rooms: Guests stay in rooms that serve as bungalows, which gives a sense of privacy and comfort.

The rooms are big with a refreshing air con and big bed. The bathroom has two light switches, one being more bright than the other, serving as a “night light”.

Service:

Service is great with a very friendly staff. The cleaning ladies are around for the day, and always smile :) The rooms also get cleaned thoroughly when you want it to be cleaned, and 2 water bottles are provided after each cleaning.

Front desc service is always available and very helpful & kind.

There is also a very sweet dog that roamed the hotel, who likes to steal flip-flops, so if you’re not a dog person or allergic, keep that in mind.

The dog can be avoided though.

Location

The rooms are located behind the staff building, which cuts of noise from the street, which is nice. The street is quiet and has great restaurants that don’t exceed normal prices. There is a gym 20-30 meters away. There are multiple massage shops on the street, and also laundry shops. 7/11 is right infront of the hotel.

The hotel is located around 15-20 minutes (walking) from the beach, due to a bigger hotel blocking the way. The path to the beach is very easy to follow.

The hotel is a real gem, all the bungalows and the main building are surrounded by awesome garden, well maintaned and managed. Located about 15 minutes from the beach and 10 minutes from the Kata Night market, the hotel provides a peaceful retreat amidst a bustling environment. The owners and the staff were always supportive, whether through taxi arrangements or room maintenance. The daily cleaning service was  excellent as well, keeping the rooms no only tidy but also fresh and secured from insects.

Despite the compact territory the bungalows are located in a diferent parts of the garden which gives a possibility to chose areas closer to the pool being more social, or hear the music from the cafe nearby or be at the remote and silent area. Some bungalows built up as a famuly rooms with 2 separate bedrooms.

Hotel is located at busy but not partying street full of cafes and restaurants from local family owned to fancy ones, 7/11 right across the road a well-equipped gym and laundry facility just around the corner.
