Foot massage was very poor, no use of any balms to relax compared to other places. Only used lotion and the massage was very standard. There was a small argument between the manager and my massage lady in Thai, which I did not understand. But it seemed she did not want to do a foot massage again (I am a young woman with very clean feet with no physical differences to note.) the lady would not let my friend and I have a foot massage together... Even tho I was sat alone next to 4 empty chairs, so there was no reason why my friend and I couldn't be together - this is pretty standard in other massage places in Phuket and Kata specifically. The massage lady seemed distracted the whole time, laughing at people walking past and looking out the curtain for the time, which was very off putting. I understand this may not be a chosen line of work and I do try to remain ethical as a tourist here, but. 350 baht to be treated this way with a very poor foot massage was inappropriate. Up the road, there is Benjamina's which have much more professional massage specialists and they are incredibly friendly there at a cheaper rate overall, compared to Pearl Massage Kata. I highly advise AVOIDING this place, it is priced more than others, the staff are not very professional in their manner and seem to dislike the work (I understand this but I tried to be as polite as possible but it didn't seem to...
Read moreLocation: Convenient for hotel guests near by like Ibis and ClubMed.
Front desk service: Cordial but talk a little loud for a spa place. When I arrived, the front desk was friendly. Next group of guests came with kids, they were talking so loud for a spa place. The kids were young, so the front desk lady didn’t allow younger kids to go into the massage with parents. I forgot what is the age limit here for kids massage. Better call before you bring your young kids.
Environment: Clean and modern. However, most of the massage rooms have to go up the stairs, and the stairs are all tiles, no slippers were provided, so it gets a little slippery with bare feet. I went up one floor for foot massage, then I had to go up one more floor for back massage.
Massage experience: Foot massage was okay. She used a wooden sticks to press the pressure points on the bottom of the feet. For the legs, wasn’t very much pressure, felt like rubbing my legs. Back massage was good. However, I usually don’t like to have massuse twist my back to make cracking sound, so I couldn’t relax when she did that to me even when I told her I cannot relax to let people crack my back at the end.
Overall, it’s a decent experience, but I feel I have had better with my usual massuse at...
Read more"We recently had the misfortune of visiting Pearl Therapy Massage in Phuket, and it was a thoroughly disappointing and unprofessional experience. Despite the tranquil looking ground floor area, we felt like we were an inconvenience to the staff.
The massage itself was subpar, with the therapist applying inconsistent pressure and neglecting key areas of tension. The oil used was low quality, leaving my skin feeling greasy and uncomfortable. The room had poorly positioned air conditioning with one half of the room at a nice temp while the side closest to the air-con was freezing, making it very difficult to get comfortable.
To top it all off, the masseuse made a joke of my requests to go easy, instead turning to her colleague and laughing when I tried to address my concerns. It was clear that they were more interested in taking our money than providing a quality experience.
Needless to say, we would strongly advise against visiting Pearl Therapy Massage in Phuket. There are far better options available in the area, and we would recommend exploring those instead. Save your time and money, and avoid this place at all...
