We are a little disappointed with this venue. The location is quite central in Kata, with everything in walking distance in this district. The landscaping is lovely however the rooms are not what the pics depict and are old and run down. That being said, it wasn't awful, I'm just over hotels using old pictures and photoshopped pics as it's deceiving. We paid for pool access room which was nice. Beds were comfortable and room was a good size. The cleaning staff didn't replenish our bathroom items like shower caps vanity kit etc, and didn't provide soap at all even though we left tips. They did clean well though. The pools are lovely, the place has 4 of them. The gym was pretty basic so if you're a gym enthusiast you're better off paying for somewhere else to use.We found the hotel pretty stingy in general. Only provided 3 teas and coffees in the rooms as we'd only paid for 3 guests. Had to ask each time for more if we needed. We had asked for a late checkout of only 1 hour and they wanted to charge me 250 bhat extra after already paying for 7 nights. Initially we asked at check in time but they said we had to wait closer to our checkout time as it would depend on bookings.I checked again yesterday as hotel wasn't busy with empty rooms and figured it should be OK. Firstly it's OK for a late check out if we pay, but when I questioned the fee given our length of stay and we were only asking for 1 hour max they then said the room was booked. If the room was booked for next guests, I'm unsure as to why paying 250 bhat would make a difference? The breakfast selection was not as great as a lot of other places we had stayed at of the same level.Overall, it wasn't an awful place, just disappointing as it could of been a lot better. Customer service was definitely below expectations.Rooms: 2/5 | Service: 1/5 | Location: 4/5RoomsBig, comfy beds. Decor dated but not an issue overall okNearby activitiesMarkets, Beach, Massages, transport, food marketsWalkabilityGreat location, easily able to walk to many local shops, food and marketsFood & drinksWe only ordered pizza once as it was expensive and they stuffed up 2 out of our 3 pizza's we ordered and the pizza they stuffed up twice was our margherita pizza lolHotel...
Read moreWe had a lovely stay at Kata Sea Breeze Resort and would definitely recommend it to families looking for a relaxing getaway in Phuket.
The resort is located in Kata, which is a quieter and more family-friendly area compared to other parts of Phuket. While it’s about an hour’s drive from the international airport, the location is fantastic—just a 10-minute walk to Kata Beach and close to Kata Walking Street night markets. There are plenty of restaurants on either side of the resort, making dining out very convenient.
The resort features three separate pool areas with plenty of daybeds and shaded spots, which were a welcome relief from the hot sun. There are a couple of ATMs conveniently located in the reception lobby, which felt safe and secure.
Check-in and checkout(12pm) was smooth and the staff were friendly (be aware the hotel holds $50 AUD equivalent which was to cover any damages you might do to the room). We were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary room upgrade to one with bunk beds for the kids—this made a big difference for our comfort and made the kids even more excited. The room was spacious, with a mini bar fridge, a wide table, a small sofa lounge, and a large balcony overlooking the pool area. While the room was a bit outdated and could use some refurbishment, it was still comfortable. We did experience a minor ant issue in the bathroom sink, but it was manageable.
The buffet breakfast was average, with limited choices and not particularly memorable in taste. One disappointing moment was when I asked to borrow some bowls/plates from the bar area for takeout lunch in our room, and the staff were dismissive and rude. However, aside from that incident, the staff were generally helpful and welcoming throughout our stay.
Despite a couple of minor issues, we had a great experience. The location, value for money, and overall service make Kata Sea Breeze Resort a solid choice for families. We would happily...
Read morePros: Premises are well maintained.
Cons: Food coupons given were for a very disappointing meal. We were given old and crusty rice, and sweet & sour pork served with pineapple even though we specifically requested no pineapple due to an allergy. The restaurant wasn’t even busy at the time - we were the only ones there. Each portion of the meal was served in a metal tin... not very luxurious for a resort! Food from room service is overpriced for the quality - wouldn’t recommend ordering. There is a great Italian place with AMAZING milkshakes a very short walk from the resort (exit resort and turn left).
Our flight to Thailand was delayed by one day and we let staff know with plenty of time to re-organise our airport transfer (they requested notification 5 hours prior to arrival; we called them 22 hours prior). Our airport transfer to the resort was smooth. The night before we left Thailand, we booked AND COFIRMED airport transfers for the next day. The morning of our last day, we were awoken by reception and told they cancelled our transfer. Apparently when our flight to Thailand was delayed, they still sent a driver to pick us up one day too early. According to their logic, this meant we had used the two airport transfers that were included in our package and they refused to help further...
I would not stay here again. Katathani Resort is MUCH more luxurious and we spent lots of time there with friends who were staying there. The staff at Katathani are also very attentive, offering poolside service and keeping an eye on guest’s requirements. The staff at Kata Sea Breeze are not attentive at all and if you are travelling with friends, they are not allowed as a guest inside Kata Sea Breeze so be mindful of this! Next time we are in Thailand, we will be staying at The Boathouse, where we had an absolutely delicious beachfront lunch and top-notch service.
P.s. Wifi is free but terrible...
