Oakwood Residence Sukhumvit 24 Bangkok — Hotel in Khlong Tan Subdistrict

This is one of my shorter reviews. The Oakwood Residence is a serviced apartment which I used to stay at very regularly. In fact it was my only call in Bangkok for 2 years as I knew the staff and the area well enough to get around. First, let’s look at the positives – Location is superb. It is walking distance from Phrong Phong BTS stop and also Sukhumvit Road. Also the upmarket Emporium shopping centre is very close by — it has all the trendy shops (Gucci etc etc) but also more reasonably priced cuisine at the top floor food market. – Staff are generally excellent. With the exception of the breakfast staff, the rest of the staff at Oakwood do everything that can to please the guests. The front desk staff are absolutely brilliant.

Now the issues that I think need to be addressed Firstly, the towels are clean, but they often have a damp smell to them. I had complained about this previously, and they had assured me that this was no longer a problem. Well it still was. This is a case of not holding their laundry service to a high enough standard. Second, if there is more than one room in the apartment, both rooms should be come with dressing robes, slippers as well as the basic toiletries as standard (even if only one person is booked in). Finally, the coffee/tea needs to be replenished every day.

Would I come back to this hotel? Probably not. I have stayed here many times, I am happy to try new places especially as I have now become more familiar...

A True Home from Home in the Heart of Sukhumvit||I've found a real gem of an apartment hotel tucked away on Sukhumvit 24, and it's become my first choice every time I'm in Bangkok. Even after staying in countless hotels, it's got that special home-away-from-home vibe that's rare to find.||You can't beat the location — it's just a stone's throw from the brand new EmSphere mall and you're spoilt for choice with public transport links right on your doorstep. That makes it super handy, whether you're here for work or play.||But the real reason I love this place is the amazing staff. The welcome you get is so warm and efficient, you feel at ease straight away. The team are always around when you need them, they're helpful and they genuinely care — and that's what makes this place so special. As they say, a great team is what makes guests feel at home, and this team definitely nail it.||I want to give a special mention and a huge thank you to Mac, Fon, Ohmmy, Mook and Toey — every single one of you helps make each stay truly unforgettable. You're the heart and soul of this place, keeping everything ticking over smoothly, and your hard work really shows.||That said, the rooms could really do with a bit of a facelift. The furniture and decor are starting to look a bit tired, and a refresh would really lift the place and bring it up to par with the brilliant service.||Even so, it's still a fantastic place to stay, and I can't wait to come...

THIS IS TOP NOTCH SERVICE AT WHAT MAY BE BANGKOKS BEST. stayed here for one month in April 2018 (i know its a late review, but as they say online "I GOT TIME TODAY" so its getting done.)

The staff wont let you carry your own bags, no matter how heavy your piano is and you tell them no i got it lol. you need a cab? no worries one is hailed for you, told your destination , pulls into the covered port to take you there with no issues if you dont speak thai. Need ANYTHING? towels, toilet paper, ice, a different type of mattress pad, ANYTHING!! and its at your door in a matter of minutes. Not like the long minutes but a New York minute. cleaning of the rooms was always A++ service and after "moving out" and hiring cleaning companies and cleaning persons, I've realized even cleaning services that advertise a "DEEP CLEAN" didn't do nearly as great of a job as the housekeeping staff!!!! Thats hard to do when you have fur babies, WAIT I forgot to mention they allow pets!! the location is perfect walking distance to the Emporium and BTS. Towels provided for the pool (on the roof) living in a condo down the road i see the staff they still smile and bow when they see me. For a month it was home but it still feels like "FAMILY" when others visit ill be sure to tell them to look no further...
