Hua Mum Seafood — Restaurant in Ko Lipe

Our order (3 dishes 2 drinks) took almost an hour to be served - it wasn’t even full house. I’d say half empty.

We were craving for steamed sea bass in lemon sauce (one of our fave thai food which we are very familiar of) and so we ordered. On top of the long wait we were also extremely disappointed when the fish arrived. The fish was served dry with lemon slices, garlic, chili and parsley garnishing only. We expected that it will be steamed with lemon sauce but seems like it was just steamed with boiling water. Fish was tasteless. We tried to explain it to the staff among which only 1 can understand english better but regardless how disappointed we were nothing was done for us. We paid 450 baht for the fish we barely touched. Staff even gossiped us to the other customer and gave me an attitude after paying.

We were so excited to be back in Koh Lipe after 3 years and this experience kind of spoiled the mood.

Also the stir fry morning glory was swimming in watery oyster sauce. Curry fried rice with seafood was ok.

Went diving in Lipe during the low season and not all the shops were open, however Hua Mum was the restaurant both my partner and myself agreed that it was the best and it was our go to dinner place post diving nearly everyday.
