Nèe papaya Thaifood & BBQ — Restaurant in Ko Lipe

For those who trave to Kohlipebay, I fully recommended to have meal at Nee Papaya restaurant. The food is good. And the services fr the staffs including the lady boss is tremendously efficient and helpful.. Thumb up.👍👍👍 My son had a terrible food poisoning after having our lunch at one of the Western restaurant at the island. He was getting serious during evening. Luckily my hubby and I draged my son out fr the hotel to hv dinner together with us. When we are heading Nee papaya restaurant for our dinner, the staffs and the lady boss saw my son felt so sick, they treated us as part of our friends or family even though we didn't kwn them. They attended and cared my son. One of the staff, tried to massage him while the other called the local clinic to attend my son. After few hours of the monitoring of the doctor and the assistant of the doctor, they arranged the in house hotel doctor to have final checked up for my son before returning to the hotel room. Thank God my son finally stabilised. And he is recovered. Fantastic. Fair price with fabulous food. You should ask to cook in some southern styles. Very nice lady who is happy to help you have delicious food experience for this small island. She can speak E-sarn (Northeastern Thai), Thai, and English. I tested some other restro selections and later ended up eaten only here until the last dinner of our whole week trip. Best value for another great meals to reward my family with a memorable trip in a low season of Lipe, but dinners here always been crowded with people from around the world. You can also ask for Bangkok or Northeastern styles, which I trust they would be real good relative to my experience with tested food from around the world. Very reasonable price with many (fresh, if not heavy raining days) seafood selections for being grilled, fried, or cooked in many possible ways. What a horrible experience. We ordered about 7 or 8 dishes. The food took ages to prepare, our first dish came about 50 minutes after ordering and our last dish came almost 90 minutes after ordering! The food was edible but far from good, especially after waiting that long. Because the food was so disappointing, we only ate a few bites and left as fast as we could.

People were smoking at the table next to us, inside the restaurant, which made the experience even worse.

No compensation was offered at all for the bad service. Not one hair on my head would think about returning here.

On a side note, our server was a nice guy and did his very best, it's not his fault the kitchen...
