King Crab Restaurant — Restaurant in Ko Lipe

Staff were extremely rude. Two staff members came to my table and argued and yelled at me over a miscommunication with the menu. I ordered a full meal and asked if I could have a small chicken skewer on the side. The staff member said this was possible. She brought and entire plate full of chicken and veggies and salad and a baked potato. I told her this wasn’t what I ordered. She said it was. I asked her for the menu and pointed to the picture of the small skewer. She didn’t understand. She took the plate away and another staff member came and yelled at me saying that the food was cooked so I would be paying for it. She stated that no one knows what they’re ordering beforehand. Dinner for 4. Restaurant was almost empty. We ordered pineapple fried rice, massaman curry and two grilled fish. Rice was ok but nothing to rave about. It was the first to be served and then waited for a very long time to get the next dish, the curry. The latter was just a red curry with some peanut in it, tasted nothing like massaman curry. When finally the fish were brought, they were very burnt and had no flavor. Service was terrible. Staff was sitting around not paying attention to clients. Food was served late even though the restaurant was not busy. They brought us the bottle of wine we ordered and left it next to our table unopened so we had to serve the wine ourselves. I had the pleasure of dining several times at the King Crab Restaurant on Koh Lipe recently, and I was thoroughly impressed. The restaurant is located at the walking street and the atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. The food was absolutely delicious. The seafood was always fresh and perfectly cooked, and the flavors were simply amazing. I also enjoyed the Thai dishes, which were authentic and flavorful. The service was excellent and the staff was attentive and friendly, and they made sure that we had everything we needed.
