Three counter staffs attended me and my family during our check in were very rude, not helpful at all. They were screaming at us during our check in regard to their stupid policy on agoda booking and payment. We were asked to do another payment pior to our booking and payment via agoda. Loads of agruments between us and three counter staffs whom just too rude to us and did not respect us as their hotel guests. The bank card we used to do the booking and payment via agoda had gone missing and couldn’t produce the same card while we tried to explain and had shown proof of payment. It was unacceptable to them and keep on repeating about the stupid policy which wasn’t reasonable at all. The worst part one of the counter staff threatened us by calling the police coz we took their photo and demanded us to delete the photo. After they made us do another payment it didn’t stop there but they did not issue us refund receipt untill we checked with them. Again the refund issue sparks another arguments. Look like the three counter staffs were unprofessional and incompetent in their job. They are not worthy to be in the front counter staff at all, lack of knowledge and trying to act smart with the hotel guests with no respect for their hotel guests at all. We encounter loads of frustration during our check in @ Andaman Beach Hotel Phuket. Neither, the hotel location is inconvenient. The hotel also lack of service staff as one staff need to take charge on buggy ride for guests, porter guests both for check in and check out and etc etc. During our check out we had to carry down our luggages to the car.Let this be our 1st and last to check in with this kind of negative and painful experience hotel check in and all other properties under the same management worldwide….👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
After one month…😞 Me and my family ever worst nightmare holiday at Phuket Thailand when we booked our stay at Andaman Beach Hotel Phuket - Handwritten Collection Our sincere review for Andaman Beach Hotel Phuket - Handwritten Collection just Avoid ur stay there. Their staff from General Manager, Manager, Account Staff and right to their counter staff are just useless not competent at all in their positions. We had so many disputes started from their counter staff during check in. Three of their counter staff were rude, threatened to call police just because they were rude and we took photo of them. We was asked to made another payment during our check in after we had shown proof of payment just because the card use to do payment via Agoda when missing. After numerous emails and phone call to their Manager who had given her assurance to expedite the refund for us a few days after our check out. It took them one month for them to finally refund us with almost SGD50 deduction not sure for what reason after making us paying double for our stay there. Our emails were ignored and was not reply. We had to follow up with phone call to the Manager and accused us being rude instead…🤦🏻♀️ We felt cheated and disappointed and it’s had spoiled our December 2024...
Read moreThe Andaman Beach Hotel Phuket – Handwritten Collection is not a new hotel it currently replaces the old Hyatt place hotel.and not much has changed since the purchase into the Accor group.
Unfortunately to take over and name change hasn't resulted in many improvements.
I read a number of the reviews and I doubt they are authentic or genuine.
The check-in process is slow and the check-in staff a very disingenuous and couldn't care less.
The rooms are the same old rooms and colours, and a lot of things like the power points are old and don't work properly and don't hold power plugs because they're old and worn.
The skirting boards etc are old scratched marked and look grubby.
The air conditioning in the rooms doesn't work properly and even down at 18 degrees it's not even anywhere near as cool as other hotels when you've got the temperature set on 24 degrees.
It took them 2.5 hours to move me to a different room where tha air con was better, however taking so long to move me was very poor.
The room has space for your luggage and a small corner sofa, there's a safe, tea & coffee making facilities, and a small bar fridge which doesn't keep things cold.
There's an old small TV mounted on the wall, and this should have been replaced a long time ago with a modern larger Smart TV.
The Wi-Fi is so bad here, I don't know why they bother paying for it because it's an absolute waste of time. It's such poor quality and drops out all the time, and you can't even open many websites like Airline websites it is so bad it is unusable
The bathrooms are a reasonable size and the shower has a handheld rose with reasonable water pressure, however the towels are very thin and are poor quality. They don't provide dental kits, bathrobes or slippers, but they do provide cotton buds.
The beds are reasonably comfortable but the pillows are very thin. From what I have seen there has been little to nothing done since the takeover of this hotel which was formerly the Hyatt Place.
The swimming pool hours close at 7 p.m. which is ridiculous. It's a hot humid climate and no other hotel has such a bad closing time. When I mentioned this to the reception staff they just laughed at me. Disgraceful!
The hotel is located a long way up a back laneway and it's a long way from everything.
The hotel does provide a very good golf buggy shuttle service through an app to take you up and down in the very steep Hill at your request.
As far as value for money is concerned it is poor value for money, and you can get much better hotels at half the price with much better facilities and location.
I was interested to try it after it had been taken over by Accor, but nothing matches changed and I wouldn't recommend it, and I wouldn't bother to...
Read moreA place where you’re welcomed not just as a guest, but as a dear friend.
We had a truly wonderful stay at the Andaman Beach Hotel. It’s one of those places where the building itself is nice — but it’s the people who make the experience truly unforgettable. The team here doesn’t just work — they create an atmosphere that feels warm, personal, and full of heart.
First and foremost: when booking, make sure your room is located in the main building. Trust me — the other building involves an Olympic-worthy climb up many, many stairs, and after a delicious dinner, that’s not always the ideal workout!
That said, once you’ve sorted the location of your room — everything else is genuinely lovely.
Breakfasts were great — fresh, varied, and tasty. A huge thank you to Chef Abu, who treated us to his culinary magic every single morning. He didn’t just cook — he crafted meals with such care and warmth that it felt like a gentle hug to start the day.
And then there’s Toy, the bartender — a true legend. It honestly felt like he could read our minds. The moment we even considered a cocktail, Toy had already mixed the perfect one and was placing it in front of us with a smile. He wasn’t just a bartender — he was the life of every evening, with an energy that made you want to sit and stay all night.
We also can’t forget Koy, the wonderful woman who welcomed us almost every evening at dinner. Her kindness, sincerity, and glowing smile made every meal feel like a celebration. She radiated warmth in a way that turned dinner into more than just a meal — it was a moment of connection.
And of course, the rest of the team — from reception to housekeeping to the restaurant staff — were incredibly polite, helpful, and always ready with a smile. Everything was done with elegance, heart, and genuine care. You truly get the sense that they’re not just doing a job — they care.
The hotel itself is clean and cozy, with good facilities and a peaceful atmosphere. Yes, there are a few quirks here and there (hello, stairs!) — but all of that fades into the background when you’re surrounded by such lovely, soulful people.
Thank you to the entire team for your warmth, your smiles, and your hospitality. Because of you, we leave not just well-rested, but with full hearts. We’ll be back — not just for the views or the food,...
