Worst experience ever. Worst customer service. Overly expensive. Frozen food. Don’t complain you will get the police on you. I would rate it as 0 If I could.
My girlfriend and I went for dinner to Sea Salt Lounge & Grill on April 2019 hoping for a great experience as it is part of the Clift diamond hotel. There was a lady by the door to welcome us and weirdly she asked ‘’where are you from’’ (to ensure we are capable of paying the bill). The place was empty, only one table… it was a bit weird. You will understand the reason why below.
We ordered deep fried buttered squid as a starter to share and as a main a whole lobster and steak. The main comes with complimentary side and sauce of your choice which was chips and we ordered onion rings and salad as an extra side. Starter came. Very nice, fresh, handmade buttered and crispy fried. So far so good.
Then the main came and everything went downhill from here. Steak and lobster was ok-ish nothing special. Now, the chips were frozen, overcooked and awful frozen onion rings. My girlfriend described it as a McDonnals food. We politely asked the waitress ‘’Tangmo’’ if the food was fresh and that we are not happy with the side dishes. She confirmed they are frozen and removed them from the table without offering a replacement.
We asked her that she removed the sides from our table without replacing them. She said, there is nothing fresh except the salad. We requested then to speak to the manager. The manager came (we found out Mr ''M'' was not a manager later on) explaining the situation above and he offered a 10% discount knowing there will be an added 10% service charge to the bill. Yet we do not have a replacement sides and they were removed from the table, only the main left.
Awful customer service, bad food, the hole conversation got escalated and they started accusing us for not paying the bill and threaten us to call the police.
Duty manager from the Clift diamond hotel came, backed up their staff and refused to serve us any food. He then accused us of not paying the bill. The staff started taking personal pictures of us and the food.
Police was called. The police was trying to be partial, hoping the situation will be resolved between us. We ended up going to the police station. From the police station we called multiple times the Clift diamond hotel. We spoke to duty manager ''Mathee'' and he said there was no manager at the time and could not get involved. Restaurant and Clift diamond hotel rejected any resolution and we were forced to pay the full bill by the...

Read moreTLDR; If you want to see the sunset while eating, just buy pad thai on the beach - much better.
Way in: just terrible, there is no legal way in without walking on a road
Appearance: I liked the look of the restaurant.
The table: we booked the table in advance, the important point was to have a nice view on a sunset. For that, you should agree to spend 3,5k baht on food and drinks. The view was there, but the table was worst of the best - the loud road was directly behind us. All other tables were eventually free, and it was not clear, why they didn’t gave us the better option. The chairs were not really comfy.
We ordered Surf&Turf: that is grilled prawns, squid, baked oysters, fried salmon and a piece of wague beef. Oysters were the most ridiculous part: bitter all the way through with saggy crumbs on top. I’ve tried several types of oysters, but these were the worst. Squid and prawns were ok, but I’m unsure about prawns’ freshness. The beef was cold and overcooked (ordered medium, it was somewhere between medium-well and well-done). But more importantly it was a really strange wague - absolutely lean. The tastiest part is the salmon - really good and original. We had salad mix and bok-choi as side dishes: bok-choi was tasty, salad - just salad leaves, too big for a bite.
Also, we tried lobster sliders. Do not recommend. A lot of mayo, a little bit of tasteless lobster, mixed with veggies. The lobster was cold and firm. Didn’t get that. Why not to bake lobster, and put it into a normal slider?
Cocktails were tasty, but there only 4 non-alcoholic ones (we tried the Cinderella and the one with ginger ale). Coffee was just ordinary.
View is beautiful. But you can get it for free from the beach.
We spent 4,5k+ baht on the dinner for two. Does it worth it? No. For this amount of money you can order a really nice dinner with seafood in Moscow, where their natural cost is much higher.
Nobody even cared, why we leaved oysters and steak, while have eaten all...
