PS Guesthouse — Hotel in Pattaya City

Pattaya, a dystopian alternate universe for some, for others a hedonistic paradise. It's the budget travelers sloppy knob with an abundance of cheep and dirty what-have-yous. I checked into PS Guest House on a recommendation of a friend. The price was right at 180 baht a night for a fan only room. The lobby was littered with Cronenberg types, grizzled old men with thousand yard stares holding their beers with loose hands at 8am when I checked in. The sign in Thai above the door must have read - Abandon all hope, ye who enter here -.||||The room: was that dried blood all over the walls, or did someone uncork a bottle of carbonated molasses? At least the cigarette burned sheets were clean and the graffiti on the wall was existential.||||The private bathroom was phenomenal, The shower head doubled as a bum gun, the black mold over the bubbling paint gave you something to look at, and the termites were busy carting off the door-jam as they expanded their empire. I had never considered a toilet seat to be an amenity before staying here, but I guess it is.||||I stayed here for a week. Between the 5am billing disputes the manager had with the mtf trans across the hall, the chain smoking guy in the room one over, and the banging of short-time headboards I got the diesel intro to Pattaya. I recommend this place to well balanced individuals who can take a joke, or just want to test the limits of depravity. Either way you'll get a eyeful of strange and a mediocre...
