This was my return visit to this hostel, and I must say I was dissppointed. Last time, on another platform, I gave it an 8/10 rating, but now I think I was too generous.Besides smiling, but not good English-speaking staff (and smile doesnt always solve problems like an informed action), and affordable price, it was hard to find all those benefits I thought this hostel had.Hot water dispenser wasnt working, but even cold drinking water wasnt accessible - i had to ask the staff 3 times for somebody to refill the machine. But the next morning empty again - there should be a system in place and not counting on guests for chasing down staff to fix it whenever the water tank is empty.I say chasing as there is rarely someone at the reception. They might be cleaning the rooms (good luck in finding them), but frankly rooms werent that clean. Floors were praying for mopping, dust in the bathroom fan wanted to leave too... there was even a clearly visible stain on my bed sheet upon checking in, but the staff replaced the sheet immediately (they could have spotted it when they were making the bed the first time maybe?Locker was not working, so the member of the staff had to use knife to make it work. The other storage place was also full of some crumble, i assume it is not on the cleaning list too often.AC in the room didnt seem to work properly. There was always a feeling of the temperature being too cold, whether the tehermostat was fixed at 18 or 25 degrees Celsius, you were freezing even undet the blanket.Privacy curtains are still transparent (?), and the doors of the room close loudly.Shower was more of a drizzle - the water pressure did not meet basic requirements. In the first shower, it wasnt even warm. I entered the second one, where the heater was working better, but you could not shower with water practically just dripping on you.All in all, there are other similarly priced hostels in Phuket that offer a...
Read moreI find it hard to rate it but warnings first. The water issue is severe and frequent. Staff know about it and im guess the owner knows it too. Maybe the old pipes are leaking so theyre trying to add water pressure instead of changing the pipes.
Personally, i was showering and put the shampoo and soap on, only for the water to stop flowing for like 5-10 minutes. Of course i panicked because i am there naked with soap, meaning i cannot leave the shower room confortably.
This is sad, but might be a systemic issue thats not gonna change unless they decide to change the pipes. I think they will lose a lot of customers and might have to close the hostel if this is not fixed. Further issues are that locks are very difficult to open and close in the dorm room.
The thing that is sad that the place itself is quite decent in terms of layout and dorm beds are sturdy it has potential to be 4 or even 5 star hostel. But due to these issues it might be a dealbreaker. Nevertheless if staying here be prepared for the water to stop anytime.
I found no bedbugs, the dorm room and beds were very...
Read moreThey have a bad habit of turning off their water. I was just now having a shower, shaving my head, and the water in the shower stopped. I had to walk downstairs to the reception with nothing but a towel and soapy head to ask them to turn on the water. they did so. however... When I exited the shower to brush my teeth, the water had stopped again! I waited at the reception but it seems they were hiding from me. I called The hotel number and they came downstairs. I questioned why they keep turning the water off. they just apologized and turned it back on. I don't shower profusely long. why does this hotel have a problem turning on their water? I think I know the answer... Because they have a leaky tap! I think that instead of repairing the tap, they'd rather just turn off...
