I booked three rooms at Arco Hotel Phuket Town - two Essential King Rooms and one Essential Twin Room - for four nights' stay with my partner and our respective parents. Overall, I was pleased with my choice of hotel: it was only built last year, so all the fittings and finishes are brand new, and the interiors are bright, calm, and elegant (there's no other way to say this - it's perfect for Instagram). Arco Hotel is also located in a slightly quieter part of Phuket Old Town, about 8-10 minutes' walk away from the town's busier streets that are bustling with tourists, so staying here gave us some much-needed peace and quiet in the evenings.||The daily housekeeping was prompt and efficient, and all areas of the hotel were clean and well-maintained, including our hotel room and bathroom. I forgot to take pictures of the room, but they were just as elegant as the bright, well-lit lobby downstairs, with a smart TV that could link up to our own streaming accounts, a small fridge, and a complimentary mini bar (which was part of the promotion when I booked, but I didn't find any of the snacks particularly tempting).||My main complaint was the shower in two out of our three rooms: the temperature controls on our showers only seemed to offer two options - chilly/lukewarm or scalding hot, with no other options in between. I'm guessing that has something to do with the plumbing or the thermostatic mixers, but they definitely need to be fixed, as it was quite annoying to have to put up with during our time at Arco. ||I would also say that breakfast was alright, but not amazing - the buffet spread was quite minimal and although there was a fairly wide range of options on the a la carte menu (about nine dishes), I didn't really find them that tempting or tasty. I would suggest venturing outside of the hotel to explore breakfast options (particularly at the local Kaset Market, if you're feeling brave) and opting for breakfast on a pay-as-you-go basis. ||There is only one lift in the hotel that services all six floors and it's not the speediest, so when the hotel is at full capacity, it can take a while to get up to the room. Thankfully, there is a wide staircase leading up to all floors if you're fit enough to sprint all the way up, but of course if you're travelling with elderly relatives or those with mobility issues, please keep the slow lift in mind when booking.||I also didn't quite understand why the windows and doors of the lobby were often thrown open to the open air, during both the morning and the evening. Perhaps it was to air the lobby, which I understand, but given how hot and humid Phuket is, it was not very comfortable if we were waiting downstairs for the rest of our group or waiting to check out. (In fact, we were boiling hot sometimes, especially after coming in after walking around Phuket Old Town!) Perhaps the hotel team should reconsider leaving the windows and doors open, and use an air purifier instead so that the lobby can remain cool and air-conditioned.||If Arco Hotel can address the issues I've detailed, I think it would make them one of the nicest hotels in Phuket Old Town - one that I wouldn't hesitate to book again or recommend. Also, thank you so much to Khun Bam, who was an outstanding staff member on the front desk at reception: she was so helpful with making restaurant reservations and taxi bookings, and she made a huge difference to the quality of our guest experience...
Read moreMy stay at Arco Phuket Town was nothing short of amazing.
The staff had prepared ahead of time a welcome congratulatory setup with flower petals and animal shaped towelettes as I had let them know we were celebrating an occasion. I only mentioned it very briefly yet they went above and beyond to ensure it was beautifully done when we arrived. They also included a welcome tray of brownies that were decadent.
The rooms themselves are so clean and modern. The beds are plush, with super soft pillows to match. The floor felt sparkly clean and I felt no issues walking about barefoot (they do provide slippers as well). The restroom was spotless and well organized. The shower pressure was amazing with both waterfall and regular options to choose from. Plenty of charging ports both USB and universal as well. The room most definitely felt brand new, and the views were incredible. The location is also superb, only 5-10 minutes walking distance to the main area for food and shopping. Everything was reachable yet the hotel was private enough where if you needed the escape you could. The breakfast area looked splendid as did the pool outside.
What really stood out however was the staff. They are so so welcoming. Having just come from Waldorf Astoria in Bangkok, I was so pleasantly surprised to see that the staff at Arco Phuket Town matched and even surpassed the level of professionalism and courtesy of a 5 star hotel. The staff really looks after you as their own. They were always asking how we were and if we ever needed anything. In the morning a gentleman at the desk even helped us call a third party tour company to ensure that we had a smooth start to our day headed to Phi Phi Don (I hadn’t even asked, he simply offered his help seeing as we were dressed for water activities).
I have nothing but praise to give to the staff at the hotel. I loved the every bit of my stay and will most definitely be back. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice stay in...
Read moreIf you're visiting Phuket, let this be the only hotel you consider. We’re so sad to be leaving! From the moment we arrived, the Arco team, especially Bam, went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and truly special.
On Day 1, we were greeted with a refreshing drink upon check-in. Later that evening, we returned to find a romantic surprise: a candlelit setup with rose petals and bath oil ready for us to enjoy. On Day 2, the team surprised my partner with a beautifully arranged birthday gesture including flowers, a cake, towel art and a note even though his birthday was technically the next day. On Day 3, at check-out, we were gifted a personalised luggage tag engraved with our initials. Such a thoughtful and memorable keepsake.
These are not your standard hotel experiences. I’ve never even wanted to use hotel bathtubs until this trip, but Arco’s cleanliness and attention to detail changed that. Bam, who kindly gave us a full tour of the facilities, even took off her shoes before entering our room. She explained everything so carefully and assured us she was just a phone call away for any requests. The walls are soundproof, and you can also request a flatter pillow.
The hotel was spotless. Our sheets and towels were refreshed daily without asking, which is a dream for clean freaks like us! I usually wear slides, but I actually felt comfortable walking barefoot in our room. Arco has also taken the initiative to create their own shampoos, shower gels and hand soaps. Their Jasmine Rice scented ones were incredible!
We’re leaving with full hearts and wonderful memories. Thank...
