Stayed in a standard queen room, where the decor was very nice and all the basic amenities were provided. The room was very clean and had enough space for luggages. The accommodation also consists of a large communal area where one can eat and/or drink.||||The owner was very nice and helpful and provided us with advice about places of interest and places to eat and also booked us transport when needed. The breakfast was also very good where a freshly prepared curry and savoury pancakes were served, whereas a packed lunch was given to us on another day due to us leaving early for the train station. ||||On our last day before leaving to the airport, the owner was very kind in letting us use the room again in the evening to freshen up, even though we had checked out. ||||In terms of location, it is very central where several food outlets are in close proximity and the famous Khao San Road is around 10 minutes walk, whereas other places of interests, such as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha is also less than 10 minutes walking distance. Definitely...
Read moreIn the heart of Bangkok, but you wouldn't know it. It's in a quiet alley off the main streets. Walk able to local markets, shopping, Khaosan Rd, and temples Everything is within tuk tuk or Grabbe (the local Uber/Lyft) range. It's in a local neighborhood with local businesses...very quaint The property itself was great. I traveled with my daughter so we weren't partying. Room was very clean, has air conditioning and free wifi, bathroom was great. There is a little courtyard in the middle of the property where the hostess (Atch) serves the best meal in town...seriously her food was the best we had in the city! All home made in the open air kitchen. Owner lives on property, Has locking gate for safety. The upstairs room has a wicked spiral staircase. If you pack light, shouldn't be a problem!! I would recommend Green Teak to anyone and would definitely stay here again in a heart beat. Atch was welcoming and helpful with how to dress for temples, and pointing us to the real locals market. She shops there for her...
Read moreThe Green Teak House had some nice aspects, there were a few drawbacks. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, which I really appreciated. The traditional teakwood design gave the place a charming feel, and the atmosphere was quite relaxing..||However, there were a few negatives. The location wasn’t great for me. The rooms are wooden rather than solid walls (obviously) so you can hear everything from the neighbouring rooms, which might be an issue for light sleepers. Additionally, I had to ask the staff to clean the shower because there was some mould issue. While they handled it quickly, I would have preferred it to be spotless from the start.||Overall, it was a decent stay, but the location was not ideal. If you’re looking for a traditional style guesthouse and don’t mind these issues, it will be a...
