My Absolute Favorite: Krua Apsorn – A Must-Try for Thai Food Lovers, Including Vegetarians! Krua Apsorn is hands down one of my all-time favorite restaurants. This beloved Thai eatery boasts a rich history of over 27 years, dedicated to sharing authentic Thai cuisine with everyone. Their focus is on presenting simple, heartwarming Thai dishes, with a core philosophy rooted in meticulous care and quality ingredients.

While famous for classics like their incredibly flavorful Gaeng Lueang Lai Bua Goong Sod (yellow curry with lotus stems and fresh prawns), the aromatic Poo Pad Pong Karee (stir-fried crab with yellow curry powder), and the delightful Kai Poo (crab omelet), I particularly want to highlight their fantastic selection of delicious vegetarian dishes! They truly excel at crafting flavorful options for those who prefer plant-based meals, making it a great choice for diverse groups. Don't forget to finish your meal with their refreshing Coconut Ice Cream.

While the restaurant doesn't have its own dedicated parking, there's paid parking available right next door, which is convenient. This place feels very local and authentic, yet it also attracts private tour groups of foreigners eager to sample its genuine flavors. Despite its popularity, the atmosphere is never chaotic, allowing for a pleasant dining experience.

I highly, highly recommend Krua Apsorn for anyone looking for a truly authentic and delicious Thai dining experience, whether you're a meat-eater or...

Krua Apsorn @Dinso is a must-visit for anyone seeking authentic Thai cuisine in a cozy, traditional setting. The restaurant is well-known for serving some of the best Thai dishes in Bangkok, with recipes passed down through generations. Krua Apsorn has gained a strong reputation for its high-quality food, especially its crab dishes, which are flavorful and fresh.

One of the standout dishes is the stir-fried crab with yellow chili, which balances the sweetness of the crab with the spiciness of the chili perfectly. Another popular option is the fluffy Thai-style omelet with crab meat, which is rich and packed with seafood goodness. The menu also features classic Thai curries, stir-fries, and fresh salads that showcase the vibrant flavors of Thai herbs and spices.

The restaurant is a bit of a hidden gem, with a modest, no-frills interior that focuses more on the food than the decor. It’s the kind of place where locals and tourists alike can enjoy a satisfying meal without breaking the bank. However, it can get quite busy, especially during lunch hours, so arriving early or making a reservation is recommended.

Service at Krua Apsorn is efficient, though the popularity of the place sometimes means a wait for a table. Nonetheless, the quality of the food and the authentic taste make it well worth the visit. If you're in Bangkok and want to experience traditional Thai flavors in a relaxed environment, Krua Apsorn @Dinso is...

I’ve walked past the restaurants many times on my various trips to Bangkok and it’s always been on my list of places to try. Last time I was here I came and it was closed but this time it was open. The staff are straight to the point and the food comes out quickly. The place is clean and tidy and nicely air conditioned not too cold! The food I had the crab omelette I found the taste better than jai fai obviously not as much meat but at the price point I thought it was reasonable. The taste was very very good. Tom yum gung I always ask for my food when they ask spicy or not spicy as the same as how Thai people eat it and it his soup was gorgeous it came with 4 big prawns and was up there with the best I’ve tried. I eat the mushroom stir fry this was lovely and had a good variety of mushrooms and was extremely tasty. I also had the chicken wings these are very common all over Thailand they where very but nothing out of the ordinary. The strangest dish I tried that I have never seen before we the green curry fried rice with work this is an interesting play on fried rice with a lot of components found in a green curry I thought this was very very good. I polished the dinner off alone after and enjoyed every bite! Will definitely be back! I eat for two or thee people and the bill came to 699 absolute bargain!

When Bangkok empties out during the Songkran holiday, it’s a good time to visit famous eateries that are usually packed with locals and tourists. We took advantage of a much quieter Bangkok to visit Krua Apsorn last Thursday and what a good decision that was. Of the dishes we ordered - the seafood yum won seen (vermicelli salad), chicken fried rice, stir fried telosma cordata flowers, squid salad, stinky bean salad, fishball curry stood out. They were sensational. The dishes stood out for their freshness, clean flavors, balance, and cooking perfection. They let the ingredients speak for themselves - a nice change from some eateries that often overdo the seasoning or cooking or spice. Not all Thai cuisine is hot and spicy. Next level home cooking is a good way to describe Krua Apsorn’s menu and finished product. Prices are also okay for this quality of food, and the restaurant’s global reputation (great reviews from The NY Times & Guardian & more). Often hyped eateries don’t live up to the reputation but this isn’t the case for Krua Apsorn and we’re already looking forward to our next visit to try their signature crab curry and crab omelette dishes.
