I’m Lebanese. This is an embarrassment to Lebanese food. Now you may be asking why I went for Lebanese in Bangkok. It was late and we just wanted some comfort food.
Anyway, the reviews say this place is one of the best Lebanese in town. Which makes me only pity the Lebanese diaspora living in this city as they must be disappointed with their lives.
The fatteh hummus was actually the yoghurt from labben immu with scarce fried bread. Falafel was stale and could have easily been a boxed mix. The moussaka? Hahah no lebanese chops vegetables like these guys did. They were obviously cut for pad se ew. The only thing that was actually really good and close to authentic was the manakeesh with the sweet bread. Have that if anything. Also FYI hummus Beiruty comes with spices not parsley.
And I also forgot to say but our waiter at one point took a break in the adjacent room to smoke a cigarette. By all means take a break but don’t go to the smoking area of the restaurant to do that and then serve customers. (Then again this is actually a very Lebanese thing to do, so...)
This review is more a protest to protect the authenticity of Lebanese food that often gets confused for the poorer equivalent of Syria and Jordan or just the bad taste as is the case...
Read moreLamb kebab is drier than it should be, meat should have more fat and it didn't have a charcoal grill flavor. Onion salad served with the kebab should be made with flat leaf parsley and have sumac in it. Falafel consistency was like puree, it should have had more coarsely ground chickpeas and better seasoned. Condiments that came with falafel was good. Again tabouleh should be made with flat leaf parsley and should have more bulghur or couscous in it. Other than that, tabouleh was well seasoned. Date mamoul has less date paste than it should and was served fridge cold, better room temperature and with more date paste. Prices are OK for what you get in Bangkok. But menu prices doesn't include vat. I am a retail customer not a business, not a company, not a wholesale buyer, I don't calculate or deduct vat separately in my accounting, vat is the retail customer's burden, so I should know the final prices before ordering. 7% is not big money but this practice is not welcome by me and doesn't give me...
Read moreI had a truly enjoyable experience at this restaurant. Conveniently located near the Sala Daeng BTS station, it's easy to get to and offers a spacious, comfortable dining area. The menu is impressively extensive—there’s even a full page dedicated just to different types of hummus!
We ordered the set meal, which came in very generous portions—neither of us could finish everything. My friend had the lamb kebab, which was juicy and perfectly seasoned. I opted for the grilled chicken; while it was slightly on the dry side, it was still flavorful and satisfying.
The ambiance was pleasant, and the staff were attentive and friendly. A nice touch was the complimentary side of vegetables and pickles that came with our meals—something I noticed wasn’t offered at their Chidlom location, based on other reviews.
One thing to note: the building’s restroom is a bit dated and requires a 5-baht fee, but the staff can provide you with a slip to waive the charge—just ask...
