We had a rest together with my daughter in a superior room with breakfasts from 10/07/24 to 10/10/24. We chose the hotel based on the following criteria: not old, possibility to get from the airport by public transport, proximity to the historical center, budget option, good reviews. True Siam Rangnam Hotel meets all the listed requirements. From Suvarnabhumi Airport we went by metro to the Ratchaprarop stop, then walked to the hotel according to the attached scheme. The room is spacious, clean, quiet, has everything you need: air conditioning, kettle, bottled water, hair dryer, safe, toiletries (soap, shampoo, shower gel), slippers (rubber). The beds are wide enough, comfortable. The hotel interiors and facades are made in the national Thai style, beautiful, we liked it. Very cozy restaurant, where we went for breakfast. Friendly and welcoming staff. There is a swimming pool on the top floor, you can take towels at the reception to visit it. The water is clean and pleasant. In the evening we admired the city lights. Breakfasts were quite satisfactory, there are egg dishes, vegetables, fruits, meat dishes, coffee. In the rain, we took umbrellas at the reception. In my assessment, I took off one star for the lack of services stated on the trip.com website: currency exchange and tour booking service. We needed these services, but they refused us, unfortunately. Otherwise, we were satisfied with the hotel....
Read moreWe did not enjoy our stay here. Although the price is very affordable and I’m no stranger to budget accommodations (see my other reviews), I felt like staying here was just not worth it.
As others mention, the 1000 baht cash deposit is a little annoying especially if you are planning on leaving the country like we were right after our stay.
The rooms are fine but the AC is hard to use. The remote only works if you point it at the unit at the right angle and on the third day of our stay the remote just stopped working entirely. Besides that, the AC was functional and strong when it was working. Bathroom is fine and shower was hot which was nice.
The wifi is horrendous. This was the most annoying part of our stay. The wifi barely works and when it does only one guest in the room can use it at a time because there’s a password. So annoying.
The second most annoying part of our stay was the noise. We stayed on the second floor so this may factor into this but everyday like clockwork a huge loudspeaker voice would blare around 7:30am and music would play for at least 30 minutes outside. We think there’s a school or something nearby? Not the hotel’s fault of course but something to factor in if you’re not an early bird.
This place is ok for a short stay but besides that I wouldn’t...
Read moreIf you are looking for a good night sleep, this is not the hotel for you. We booked because it looks great and that at this price point, the basics of being able to sleep would be covered, but we were wrong. Stayed 3 nights and got woken up multiple times each night. The problem is that the "window" to the bathroom is basically a few wooden slats, and the door from the bathroom to the bedroom is the same, so you may as well not have anything there. Every person talking outside will be like they are inside your room. And people rolling their wheelie suitcases on the balcony will be really amplified. We also had the joy of the fire alarm going off a few times a night.
When we mentioned this to the hotel manager, we were told we could have a free piece of bread and instant coffee. It's not a free breakfast, just a slice of bread.
This hotel could be good, but instead, it's massively let down by not having sound insulation in the room and being managed by people who don't understand that a good night sleep is the basis of any hotel.
My advice: spend your money somewhere else, I've had less noisy nights in hostels on Kaosan Road.
EDIT after the manager's response: Yes, we must have imagined the fire alarm going off in the middle of the night or confused it with a...
