Taksim Flat — Hotel in Beyoğlu

This is not a hotel, but a set of whole apartments for rent. Our group rented two of them for a week. The apartments are clean, well proportioned and well furnished. Each has only one bathroom though, even the 3-bedrooms we stayed in, which may or may not be a problem depending on the size of your group.

The person in charge is extremely friendly, and we found him very timely and trustworthy.

The apartments were exactly as they were pictured, and had a full set of kitchenware (oven, hob, pots, pans, dishes, cutlery, etc.) There is no microwave though.

The problem is with the location, though. While close to Taksim, etc, and very easy to get to public transport, the apartments are halfway up a literal hill. You need to climb up and down about 200 steep steps to get to sea level (which, to be fair, is quite close by) or walk a relatively long way along narrow, winding, and inclined streets with bad sidewalks to get there, which is far from ideal, if you are anything but extremely athletic or young and energetic.

Also, nothing to do with these apartments, but we found Ubers and taxis EXTREMELY unreliable during our stay, with them accepting rides, then canceling over and over, or demanding (much) more money, etc. So don't think (like we did) that you can circumvent the steep route problem by taking taxis. It will probably happen that you will not be able to find a ride at any reasonable price in the afternoon or evening.

In short, the apartments are great, cozy, and as pictured (on travel and booking sites), and their manager is reliable, nice, and responsive. If you stay there, and plan to come and go, prepare yourself for a lot...

The flat was surprisingly spacious. It was very clean with modern decor. The rooms were individually air-conditioned. It had a fully functional kitchen with cooker, oven, fridge and a washing machine. The only thing missing from the kitchen was a microwave and we did feel the need for it. It is only 5 minutes walk from Taksim Square and about 10 minutes walk from the tram stop. The hotel is located in a narrow one way street. The streets in the area are very steep and require an effort to walk up and down the streets. You don't get much of a view from the flat except of the street .
