I booked Adora Hotel through Booking.com that was advertising the room as a family room for 4 people including many facilities plus discount for booking.com members. We soon realised that many things were wrong and dodgy. First, when I arrived they asked me to pay cash and they said they will cancel the booking so my credit card is not charged. I then realised that they must have done this to leave no trace or to avoid tax or commission to booking.com. In addition, the room was a small double-bed room and they had put 2 extra mattresses to sell it as 4 bed family room. There was barely space for 4 people. The bathroom was not clean. The beds were not comfortable. We then realised that the fridge and the AC doesn’t work properly. The safe box was broken too. The seating area outside was also rented out to the next door restaurant and we were not allowed to sit downstairs unless we order food. When talking to other guests, they were all unhappy as well. Finally we decided to complain to the management but what we received was a very aggressive and rude behaviour. They literally said “it is what it is, and if you don’t like just check out”. In general it was a very disappointing and unpleasant experience. The place is technically a hostel or gust house at best scenario and should not be advertised as a 3 star hotel. The price is too much for what you get. I could easily book a large room in London in a nice 3 star hotel with £70 per night. We strongly recommend others to avoid using this hotel and highly request Booking.com to take action against this matter. We put our trust on Booking.com but advertising dodgy and untrustworthy accommodations can definitely damage the reputation of Booking.com as well. In addition to the bad experience and poor service, we believe this is a case of false, misleading and deceptive advertisement which is wrong and illegal and should be prevented.

The location of the hotel is GREAT - it's within walking distance to the main tourist attractions, which is really good as you don't have to think about transportation. If you want to explore some other parts of the city, a tram station is really close, as same as the port. If you want a taxi - no problem, just tell that to the staff and they will organize everything. Also, there are plenty of shops and restaurants near the hotel - the closest one is a hotel restaurant so you can eat there at any time (I really liked the atmosphere and the food there). The thing which is the most important for me as a female traveler is to feel comfortable in the space where I stay and I must say that in this hotel I felt like I am at home. Besides the location which is probably the best for tourists, the staff is super friendly and always happy to help. Mehmet and other people from the hotel will always greet you with a smile, answer all your questions, and make sure you feel good and that you are enjoying your stay. If you are a solo female traveler, I think you will not make a mistake if you come here. When it comes to the rooms, there are some things that can be improved to look better and to be more practical. However, for me personally, I find other things more important (location and general feeling), so I didn't pay too much attention to this. Overall, from my experience, I totally recommend this place, and the next time when I come to Istanbul, I will not think twice about the accommodation. :)

The ADORA HOTEL is a good budget hotel that I was happy to stay at...and would again! Having said that: The hotel rooms are showing their age. My room was quite good with a window to the food/walking lane. Good sound proofing. The room lighting is ok but a bed side table lamp would be a bonus. Damaged to toilet and sink porcelain. The walls and shower stall need a good scrub. The water pressure varies with the amount of guests showering at the same time...the hot water lasts a good while. Regardless everything in the bathroom functions and does as required. I can over look this...but others may not. The free breakfast was limited and the same every day. Simple but it tops you up for the morning. Fruits and veg with boiled eggs fries and manufactured meat sausages. Coffee and tea available. The hotel has a restaurant attached so lunch and dinner can be purchased here. Beers and wines also available. Location is 10 out of 10. Close to most major sites. Close to restaurants, bars, atms, currency exchange, souvenir shops, food stalls, cafes and a tram station. The staff here are the nicest people, smiling and helpful. English is a barrier for a few but the majority speak english perfectly. The hotel is more a two star hotel. The attached restaurant gives it a three star rating. Im a seasoned traveller. For all the negative comments, I was happy to stay here for nine days. I would be happy to stay here again as I think the positives outweigh the negatives. An 8/10 for this fine hotel!

Several negative things happened during our four-night stay that affected our experience in the beautiful city of Istanbul, marred by the hotel's service and facilities. First, the first two nights, due to the extreme heat in the city, the power was out. Of course, we understand this is a general issue with the electricity service and not the hotel's responsibility, but faced with this situation, the hotel didn't deign to provide us with an emergency light, a flashlight, a bottle of water, absolutely NOTHING. Not that we expected anything in return, but a courtesy gesture would have been very kind, and that never happened. The only thing they told us was that "the power will come back on eventually." Imagine walking all day in the sunlight and returning at night and having to take a shower in complete darkness, not to mention being unable to charge our phones or communicate with our families and business back home because, of course, there was no Wi-Fi. Again, we didn't expect anything in return, but a courtesy gesture would have changed our perspective. In fact, other hotels in the area had generators, which is logical given a problem that is evidently common. They should offer real alternatives for this type of problem. Secondly, the room cleaning is adequate, but the general condition of the sheets and mattresses is quite deplorable. We saw other reviews mentioning stains on the sheets, and it's true, there are many unpleasant stains everywhere. In fact, when they cleaned our room, they left the same sheets dirty, which we recognized by the stains! The first night, we saw a small insect on the mattress and didn't give it much thought. The result: I have flea bites or some similar pest on my feet, legs, and hands. Unpleasant. Regarding the condition of the room and bathroom, beyond the sheets and mattress, we can't say anything; it's acceptable for the price paid. Thirdly, the breakfast leaves a lot to be desired and doesn't even come close to what is advertised. The bread is served in a plastic bag and is always stale. The coffee is from a machine and tastes like coffee on long-distance buses. The orange juice is awful. Overall, it's very basic; the food doesn't seem fresh and is of poor quality. We mention this because one of the reasons we chose this hotel was because they presented breakfast as one of their strong points, when it was quite the opposite. Finally, but perhaps what bothered us most was the hostile and offensive treatment of one of the staff members on our last morning. We're not talking about Edi or Mohamed, who were very friendly throughout our stay, but rather an employee we hadn't seen on any of the previous days. As we were about to leave, and while we were waiting for a taxi, this guy asked us to leave a review and to please "not give him 2 points" and that he "had seen our comment" and also that we had deleted it. The thing is, we left a negative review the first night about the power outage, but then deleted it out of empathy. The problem is that when we left, we felt harassed and somewhat uncomfortable and threatened by this guy, as he warned us in a very cynical tone that he had seen what we had posted and that we shouldn't do the same thing again... I ask, is this perhaps the way to address guests of a hotel who have paid to stay there? Is this how they treat everyone who has a complaint or request? Clearly, all these elements and variables demonstrate why they have so many negative reviews on Booking.com and other platforms. We loved Istanbul, but our experience was deeply affected by everything that happened at the Adora Hotel. We will never recommend it, and we hope they can truly understand how guests...

everything was horrible except for the location! the staff were extremely rude with zero customer service experience, the only working facility at this property is the elevator. we stayed there for 9days/8 nights, on our first day the water was cut all of sudden in the morning and returned after a while with no explanation or apology from the hotel. we complained about it, they advised that there's maintenance taking place and we returned at night to find that the electricity is cut and it's completely dark (and for sure there was no warm water nor heaters working). the same issues occurred for the following 4 days!! till finally the issue was fixed! During our total stay the room was cleaned 3 times only & the 3rd time was after escalating the issue in the reception & the staff excuse was that the cleaning lady was sick & we are not humans as we didn't consider her situation!! poor breakfast & same items offered every day! one time when we were complaining about the necessities that were missing in this property, the receptionist shouted at us and asked us to check out if we are always complaining and not happy with our stay ! we haven't received a single apology from this rude staff an when i asked to speak to the property owner, the receptionist told me he is outside the country and can not be reached by telephone or mobile! (as if we are still in the 80s) and to top all of this, when we were checking out, the receptionist was impolite enough to say that Arabs always make problem & he will not book to any arabs anymore. he knew that i am an Egyptian so he teased me by saying " I LOVE ISREAL" as if this will make me more nervous. so bottom line, stay there if you want to...
