The location is brilliant - a few minutes walk from most of the main attractions, convenient to get around. Staff on duty were polite and helpful, however would not say that about the owner. The ratings for this hotel / stars are very misleading. Very different to the pictures displayed on most web sites. The room cleanliness is appalling, the bathrooms were all mouldy and grimy (see pics), floors have gaps and are not clean, walls are patchy. The first night the bed linen was not clean. The next morning the shower did not work! When asked to be given a different room staff tried to help but the boss/manager (who doesn't know a word of English) was rude. Its mentioned that the rooms are sound proof, however street noises and the tram right outside is annoying. There is a restaurant is located on the ground floor, however food did not look very appealing - so gave breakfast at the hotel a skip, besides the people managing the restaurant downstairs seemed to be a bunch of clowns. Customer of the hotel are supposed to be given a 10% discount (displayed on the elevator) - ordered a beer and asked for the discount to be told it would be taken off and added back as a service charge. I agreed on a specific price for my stay. I had a clear verbal agreement, and everything seemed fine when I checked in. However, the very next day, the staff suddenly demanded a different, higher price. When I refused to pay this new, inflated amount, they became incredibly hostile and aggressive. The customer service is non-existent. When I tried to get an explanation for the sudden price change or asked to speak with a manager, I was completely ignored. They were rude, dismissive, and refused to provide any form of accountability or resolution. It felt like they were intentionally trying to cheat me, knowing I was a tourist and had limited options. This is a dishonest business that will bait you with one price and then try to extort more money from you once you're already settled in. I just found out that It is a well known scam that restaurants run having a "10% government tax" added on the bill because by regulation the food prices should have included tax. To charge 10% is already cheating and Neda, they have the balls to charge 20%. ! The food is just regular, I ate there only because it is close to my hotel. Now that i found out, they have just lose a customer for the next few days. The bill when arrived, had the reason for the 20% scratched out, when I asked why there's the 20%, he mumbled some "mix of government tax plus tip"....I said other restaurants added at most 10%.... Anyway, after I paid, he took away the restaurant bill and only gave me the credit card slip that contained the total, saying I only needed that, obviously to take away the evidence that they cheated badly.
