There are NO WORDS to describe the experience of staying 7 Nights at The Sirkeci Mansion! Amazingly WONDERFUL! Hospitality at it's ABSOLUTE VERY FINEST! From the reception to breakfast helpers to person carrying luggage to room to housekeeping to reservation sales representative (who was a HUGE GOD sent ANGEL answering allllllllll my phone calls and emails with my crazy questions....she was so very helpful and kind, never losing patience when I may call 3-4 times per day before arriving asking many questions. And if she did not know the answer she would find out for me and email me back! ) Her helpfulness was one of the main reasons we made final decision to stay at Sirkeci! Kindness before we arrived Customer service, hospitality, kindness, helpfulness, and such sincerity in WANTING to help from EVERY employee! Making my husband, sister and I to feel like part of their family as opposed to guests in hotel! Upon arrival, reception sat down with us in foyer and proceeded to explain map of Istanbul, museum cart, places of interest for tourists, a voucher for one free meal for each of us, AND served us tea (cay)! He was so kind to us as we arrived into their country for our first time ever! And the man taking care of our luggage brought all SEVEN pieces to our rooms as we were receiving MUCH NEEDED info from reception. Not to leave out that Sirkeci had someone to search for us and pick us up from airport AND called and checked on us when it was taking us a bit long with luggage and exchanging $$$! WOW! AND......Awaiting in each of our rooms was a dish FILLED with Turkish delights AND a personal letter from the owner welcoming us and with his personal cell number to call him if any problems whatsoever! (We tasted many Turkish delights other places throughout Istanbul and the ones at Sirkeci ....our favorite!) By this point we were feeling like ROYALTY! The breakfast served each morning was the BEST we have ever had and our favorite meal of the day while in Instanbul! The kindness and helpfulness of employess was overwhelming! We also used laundry services which was GREAT! And my sister and I had a much needed massage which was so relaxing and enjoying, she was FANTASTIC and we will receive a FULL hamam upon return in two months and ask specifically for her, I cannot spell her name so I won't try...Lol. Our housekeeper kept us supplied with unlimited water, tea, coffee for our room She was so very kind! EVERY SINGLE PERSON at Sirkeci was a HUGE help! No words to describe, honestly! The hotel is IMMACULATELY CLEAN! Spa is BEAUTIFUL and clean! If you are coming to Istanbul then Sirkeci Mansion is THE PLACE for you! Only one tram stop to Sultanahmet and maybe 5 minute walk if you don't want the tram. Galata Tower is 3 tram stops or 20 minute walk. Spice Market 10 minutes walk or 2 tram stops. Grand Bazaar is 3 tram stops or 15 minute walk. To us, Sultanahmet is a bit busy and we LOVED location of Sirkeci which is CLOSE to everything but much quieter than other areas if that makes sense. I wish I could spell everyone's names from hotel, but I can't. I CAN promise, if you stay with the Sirkeci Mansion family you will NOT be disappointed! You will be in AWE of the quality and hospitality! Thank You! Thank You! Thank you Sirkeci Mansion for helping to make our first trip to your country a lifetime of Amazing memories! We cannot wait for our return in April! Wish we could rate this hotel with many more than 5 stars! I also want to mention the small shop across the street! I cannot spell her name but she is Wonderful and kind! Make sure to tell her MERHABA from the Davis family when you visit her shop! The tshirts and many other items much less expensive than Grand Bazaar and Spice Market! AND she is sweet, which is always a plus! Once again, we would not even consider any other hotel while in Istanbul and have already booked our next stay with them! Oh, and I basically RARELY review ANYTHING ...But honestly, people MUST know about this...
Read moreThis is my home in Istanul for life! I stayed at the Sirkeci Mansion Hotel last year several times and loved it. For that reason, I booked several rooms in November and December for myself and several foreign guests from several countries. We all loved Sirkeci Mansion. Everything you read is true. All the basics are covered… extremely clean… great location close to metro and tram…. safe… and responsive to all needs but this is the story that has made Sirkeci Mansion my home in Istanbul from now on. One unexpected foreign guest decided to attend our event just a few days before the event. For that reason, she was unable to book a room at Sirkeci. She booked a nearby hotel. On the day of the event, this attendee intended to meet our group at Sirkeci and head to Istanbul University with us as a group. Unfortunately, our communication got crossed up and she arrived at Sirkeci after our group had already left. She was very upset after traveling so far to attend the event. NOW… This is what makes Sirkeci Mansion so exceptional… One of the staff members ( I wish I remembered his name )… took it upon himself not to just explain to this person how to get to Istanbul University… That would have been enough but he went WAY beyond the call of duty and actually escorted her using the tram to the university to ensure she got there ok and quickly. This person was not even staying at Sirkeci! The staff/ownership…. everyone associated with this hotel take guests on as extended family:)))) Many hotels in Turkiye say this but Sirkeci lives it. Sirkeci is now my family when I am in Istanbul and I refuse to stay anywere else. This is the BEST hotel I have ever stayed in… and as a side note (My father in law…now deceased… was the vice-president of Holiday Inns so I’ve been in some pretty nice hotels with my wife who is very choosy over the years). STAY AT SIRKECI MANSION!!!! You will not go wrong here and if full… ask for other hotels with the same owner…. This is the absolute best home away from home in Istanbul!!! I’d give them a million stars if I could… When I left this time for home (Canada)… I was actually sad to leave the staff of the hotel. They came out and waved goodbye… truly family away from home and I miss them… BUT I know I will see them again because when the basics are covered (and they are)…. it is the staff that make a place feel ‘right’. This staff is exceptional… They are the best I’ve ever run into… in any country…. So…. don’t read any more reviews and don’t even consider staying anywhere else. I know this beautiful hotel in the heart of Istanbul will be your home too once you stay here. I should try to keep it a secret lol.. but they are family now and I will support them as such… Have a great time in...
Read moreThis is my all time favourite hotel. Words cannot describe our pleasure in staying at this hotel in a traditional Turkish wooden building in the old town. From first contact when booking till saying farewell, the manager, Okay, and his staff go above and beyond to ensure the comfort and enjoyment of their guests. |At booking, guests are sent a list of the hotel’s services including descriptions of the special tours and classes run exclusively for the guests at no extra cost. I did the walking tour of old Istanbul, which was a highlight of the stay. Okay or one of his staff will sit down with guests on arrival to assist with maps and special requests guests might have.|We booked our tickets for the whirling dervish ceremony through the hotel and received a discount, which probably was the rebate given to the hotel as commission. We were lent an “Istanbulcart” for public transport, with some money left on by a previous guest. We were able to “top up” at the hotel or at the machines at tram stops and returned the topped up card when we checked out.|Our room was very comfortably furnished with ensuite bathroom and supplied with everything a guest could need, bottled water was supplied every day. The room was squeaky clean and immaculately serviced every day. We did need to use an electrical convertor plug and the charger we use at home for phone and i-pad.|Breakfast buffet is included and is delicious, many excellent choices and different selections every morning. Afternoon tea with delicious Turkish bagels, is served every afternoon in the comfortably furnished living room of the hotel.|The hotel is brilliantly located, close to Gulhane stop for the T1 tram, a short walk to the entrance of Topkapi Palace, an even shorter walk to the magnificent park that once was the palace garden. The next tram stop, Sultanahmet, is for the Blue Mosque, Aga Sophia and Basilica Cistern. Two stops in the other direction is Eminonu for the Bosphorus ferries, the most beautiful mosque in Istanbul and the spice bazaar. A short walk from the end of the T1 tram line, Kabatas, is Dolmabahce Palace. There are many restaurants in walking distance. |The hotel will arrange transfers coming and going for an extra charge, a fraction of what our cruise company was charging. We were collected from the cruise port and taken to the airport by thoughtful and careful drivers. These were quoted in euro must be paid for at the hotel in...
