Güleç Hotel — Hotel in Fatih

Beautiful hotel. Very kind and welcoming staff. Extremely helpful staff that make you feel at home! For all my future trips to Istanbul I intend to always stay here. Location is perfect you will never need to get a cab and the safety of the hotel is very good as well.

UPDATE: NOVEMBER 2018 - I have returned here for the 3rd time, staff is amazing as always from reception to chief to cleaners . Would still recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Istanbul! Staff member Sima who is a cook here always goes out of her way to make your breakfast amazing. Not only.does she cook everything for breakfast , but she makes omelettes to order, will remember your tea orders and always more than willing to help and assist. Full of energy and smiley face , she helps anyone who isn't a morning person make it through!! As living proof right now I am so happy after breakfast I decided to write this review because of Sima good spirit! I will definitely be back...

First of all the hotel charged us NOT AT EXIT BUT AT ENTRY. Secondly we were a family of 11members with our 70yr old parents who were given a room on the 5th floor, and the LIFTS WERE UNDER MAINTAINANCE when we checked in at 1pm. They told us that 1pm was low activity time hence best to repair lifts (which is so stupid cuz lowest activity ideally is at night. They could have easily repaired their lifts after midnight) They did however change our parents room to the 2nd floor (which they originally said was not available) Thirdly, we witnessed a fight just outside the hotel involving the carpet mongers and the HOTEL STAFF. This staff also had a knife in his pocket and all our kids got really frightened. Fourthly, on the last morning of our stay, we came down for a late breakfast at about 9.30am. The kitchen staff turned off TV, LIGHTS AND AC even while we were still eating. There are millions of hotels around. Please take my advise and excuse...

Do not stay at this hotel. It is false that they have 4 stars, they only have 2. The hotel was dirty, I got sick due to its lack of hygiene, there was a lot of dust. I thought I had caught a bad flu but it turned out it was an allergy to a mite or some dangerous substance. I'm 60 years old and nothing like that has ever happened to me in my life. On the sixth day that I had not left the room except for lunch, I moved to a fantastic hotel 70 meters away that was 4 real stars and cheaper and the problem ended. Nothing happened to my partner. They fired me refusing to refund any money even though I had paid for 9 nights. The next day after my threats via WhatsApp they paid me only two nights even though I paid for three at the other hotel.
