Golden Royal Hotel Review: A Wonderful Stay with Just One Flaw
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Golden Royal Hotel, and I must say it was an overall fantastic experience. From the moment we walked through the doors, we were greeted by some of the most welcoming and friendly hotel staff I’ve ever encountered. Special mention goes to Abdul Aziz, Yunus, and Esrin at the reception, who truly made us feel at home from the very beginning. They were attentive, warm, and always available to assist with a smile. The check-in process was seamless, and it was clear that the staff was genuinely happy to have us there. They went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and well taken care of, which set the tone for the rest of our stay.
One of the best things about the Golden Royal Hotel is its prime location. It’s centrally located, with everything you need within walking distance. The Grand Bazaar and the Blue Mosque are both just a short stroll away, which made sightseeing incredibly convenient for us. Additionally, the tram service was only 100 meters from the hotel, making it easy to travel to other parts of the city without hassle. Whether you’re exploring Istanbul’s famous landmarks or just walking around the area, the hotel’s location couldn’t be better.
Beyond the location, the service was exceptional. Whether it was the concierge helping us with recommendations, the housekeeping staff ensuring our room was spotless, or the front desk staff checking in to see how our stay was going, the Golden Royal team didn’t miss a beat. Abdul Aziz, Yunus, and Esrin, in particular, deserve a special shoutout for their kindness and professionalism. They truly know how to cater to their guests and make them feel valued, which made all the difference in creating a positive experience.
We were also thrilled to receive an unexpected upgrade to an interconnecting family room. This was a pleasant surprise and truly elevated our stay. The rooms were spacious, modern, and immaculately clean. The attention to detail in maintaining the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms was truly impressive. Having the additional space was a huge bonus, especially for our family, and it allowed us to relax and unwind after a long day of exploring the city.
Despite the many wonderful aspects of our stay, I do have to mention the one area that fell short: the breakfast. Unfortunately, the breakfast options were quite limited, and the variety left a lot to be desired. It felt like there were very few choices, and what was available didn’t meet the standard of the rest of the hotel’s services. Even more disappointing was the attitude of the morning staff serving breakfast. Unlike the rest of the hotel staff, they were not welcoming or friendly. There were no greetings or smiles, and it almost felt as though we were an inconvenience to them. It was a stark contrast to the hospitality we received from everyone else at the hotel.
That said, I want to emphasize that this breakfast issue did not detract too much from the overall experience. The hotel itself, with its excellent service, clean rooms, and friendly staff, was truly a joy to stay at. We were able to overlook the breakfast situation because everything else was so well done. I believe this may have just been an off moment for the breakfast team, and hopefully, it’s something the hotel can improve upon in the future.
In conclusion, I would highly recommend the Golden Royal Hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, welcoming, and well-maintained place to stay. Its central location, combined with the fantastic service provided by Abdul Aziz, Yunus, and Esrin, made our visit to Istanbul even more enjoyable. Despite the minor setback with breakfast, the overall experience was fantastic, and the hotel staff made sure we felt right at home. We will definitely be returning and hope to see an improvement in the breakfast service next time.

Read moreIn the middle of the peak season, there were harsh noises from 10 am to 8 pm because of the hotel’s roof repair. It was really noisy when I wanted to rest at that times. When we entered our room, the ground, the back of bathroom door and the bedclothes were covered with body hairs. My personal iron was taken to the other room and stayed there for one day. We noticed that when we needed the iron. At the first night of our check-in, there was a construction right behind the hotel, but nobody interfered that. Since the hotel management is really poor and unexperienced. What is more, my car was damaged during my stay and the hotel management did not take any responsibility and I incurred a loss. I parked my car right in front of the hotel’s door, to the area hired from the municipality. Although I asked the hotel management insistantly whether there would be a problem for car parking here, they guaranteed me everything was ok. Yet, tomorrow there was a huge dent on my car’s body which was 20 cm long. Another tourist from the hotel hit my car. I requested from the hotel management to check the hotel camera recordings to find the person and to get paid because of the damage. They told me that they found the person and promised me to meet us tomorrow. But they didn’t keep their promise and they told me the lie that the person checked out of the hotel. I incurred a loss and the hotel management didn’t take any responsibility to solve the problem and they left me alone. Think twice when you intend to make a reservation here.
