If you are a tourist that does not speak Turkish, do yourself a favor & check out some other restaurants. My mother is allergic to a food that we asked to be substituted with something else. After a long walk home, we found the food that she is allergic to… still in the platter. We walked all the way back to show him that she could not eat it because she would get sick. Instead, he got upset and went back to take it out, leaving some of it on the meat. He got so angry and tried to argue with us, saying we make so many problems. Talking about us in Turkish to the other staff and customers. We tried explaining to him that it is an allergy and she will get sick. After 5-10 minutes of going back and forth, he offered us our money back which we greatly accepted back. I used the translator app the first time I told him about the allergy, and the second time we came back. I used the application to make sure this would not happen, even though he was speaking to us in English.
We did not feel welcomed. We felt very very disrespected. This is our third time in Turkey and have never been treated like this before.
Allah sees all, so I am not upset. Just disappointed with a grown man’s behavior to a mother and daughter.
I recorded the interaction incase the owner said otherwise, and for...

He placed the menu on our table and returned barely a minute later, displaying impatience. When I politely requested a few minutes to allow my missus, who has dietary concerns, to make a decision, he arrogantly suggested we simply order the ‘large mixed kebab plate’ and be done with it, before swiftly removing the menu without so much as an apology.
It is now entirely clear why so many of my friends have chosen not to return to Turkey. The service was disgraceful, the staff lacked any semblance of politeness, and it’s painfully apparent that their only interest is in taking advantage of customers.
I would strongly advise anyone to steer clear of this restaurant. There are far better dining options in the area where one can expect decent service and a...
Read moreAn absolutely humble yet amazing restaurant to experience perfect Turkish hospitality. When you are walking in Istanbul it’s common for people to invite you to their cafes. One morning as I was walking a gentle looking old man showed me the way to his kebab place. I climbed into a small seating place with a beautiful view to the winding street. Food was good....they serve generously and soft tunes of Turkish Clairynet plays in the background. One wall is adorned with a huge tapestry of Turkey’s beloved Sufi mystic Mevlana Rumi! I always returned here.... prices were cheap, food of excellent quality and they would always offer me Beklava- the walnut filled dessert and a chai for free after my meal since they realised I loved my chai :-)
Do visit if you happen to be in...
