Hotel Vera — Hotel in Fatih

I have found out about this hotel onlinr and chose it as it was matching to my budget and the location I had on my mind. I have booked via booking.com and on my arrival day they have pretended that my credit card was not valid in order to cancel my reservation. Straight away I have updated my details and contacted them to confirm my arrival. |Eventually I arrived, was not easy to spot out the entrance. As I walked in I have not been greeted by the young receptionist. First thing he did was to call his superior instead of welcoming us. I am myself working in hospitality so I understood that there were overbooked and this is why they have tried to cancel my booking last minute. So I have taken the initiative to talk the receptionist who just wanted us to wait and nothing else. I was ok not being able to stay there as in this case the hotel is in charge of finding another similar accomodation if not better. After an hour waiting I have been sent walking ( after midnight) to another place where some other guests were arguing with reception as they would not stay in their room. I understood why as I entered the room it was dirty, smelling, with holes and some kind of black sand in the bath tube. Unbelievable. I have refused it obviously eventually I have been shown some othrrs and had to pick the one less dirty with the outside door not locking. It was 4am when i finally managed to get to bed after a long journey. |For the next day I have booked myself an airbnb which was just amazing. |But that's not all... few days later I have been charged for the whole stay ( i was supposed to stay 4 nights), when i tried to contact the hotel manager he has been literally insulting me.|I do not recommend it to anyone....

We had originally made a reservation via Otelz.com to stay at the Allday Istanbul Hotel. However, on our arrival to the Allday, they only found our reservation after 15 minutes of searching but informed us that they were fully booked and would therefore escort us to their sister hotel, The Luxx. ||||Another set of guests arrived just after us and were informed of the same - despite their reservation, the hotel did not have room for them.||||On our arrival to The Luxx, we checked in and the gentleman at reception took our payment (which was around 20% higher than the hotel we had actually booked) and handed our key to us in return.||||We were taken to the 6th floor in the tiny lift and then up a further flight of stairs - with no bannister or railings - to our room. ||||When we entered the room, my fiancee and I were in shock - the room was dirty, especially the toilet and shower-room, the sheets were stained, the wall paper was peeling away from the wall and there was a halogen heater barely hanging on the wall with a wire and plug dangling! Apart from the obvious health and safety issues, the room was tiny - there was simply no space to place any luggage!||||We therefore decided to exercise our statutory rights and immediately checked out and requested a refund. My fiancee and I agreed that we would take our chances on finding another hotel, albeit at such short notice, rather than risk spending a night there.||||Sadly, I cannot comment more on the Allday Hotel itself given that we did not actually...

I would highly recommend!! I had a layover in Istanbul and chose Hotel Vera for its positive reviews on Booking.

Location was perfect especially if you plan on walking to local attractions and want to be near plenty of food and shopping areas. I arrived late (around 9pm) and was able to find plenty of late night food options within 5 minute walking distance.

The staff was extremely friendly and had perfect communication throughout my stay. They were thoughtful, proactive, and even helped me out by communicating/coordinating with my driver for my private transfer to the airport. I really appreciated the level of thoughtfulness and kindness they put into making guests feel comfortable. It made a huge difference and put me at ease, as I was only in Turkey for 20 hours and was a bit worried about logistics. Many thanks to the staff for making me short stay so smooth and enjoyable.

The room was clean and looked just like the pictures on Booking. Breakfast was well organized and yummy. I appreciated the small disposable cups which allowed me to drink my tea while I walked around Istanbul.
