I booked it on booking . com. This is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at in the 3 years of non-stop traveling. I’ve stayed here for 2 weeks in total, I felt like home and very safe the moment i walked into the hotel. This is family run and the people are so so kind.
House keeping: you can get your room cleaned everyday if you wish.
Room: the bed and the room is very comfortable, I asked for a quieter room, the staff is always there to help and satisfy my request or anything I need, the room I got was so quiet and nice. The bed is very comfortable, there’s always hot water for shower and the pressure is good. Room is clean and comfortable for long term or short term living.
Area: there’s tons of good local restaurants, ATMs, souvenir spots, juice places nearby, it’s quiet and not busy, it’s only 10 minutes walk to the closest tram station. It is close to sultan ahmet (where the blue mosque is), and very close to grand Bazzar. They have laundry service at the hotel at a small fee, the neighborhood is so safe and everyone knows the hotel owners so I felt very safe and taken care of while I was here!
Hotel: the hotel has 6 floors in total, it has an amazing cozy terrace to relax on. If you need a taxi from or to airport, you should book through the hotel, because they work with kind and honest people that won’t scam you.
Staff: the family that works here is so so kind, the receptionist asks me if there’s anything I need every day, they give me enough privacy and also let me know that I can always voice about anything I need. if there’s any problems or troubles you face during your stay, as long as you tell them, they fix it for you right away. For example, my bathroom drain wasn’t working, I told them and they fixed it on the same day! They even gave me a bigger room on the first day I arrived and let me check in early since I arrived early and they didn’t want me to wait and made sure I got my rest!
They’re the reason why I wish I’ve stayed in Istanbul for even longer!! 100% recommended and would love to come back!!!
If you’re debating where to stay as a first time traveler to Istanbul or if you’re returning here for another trip, THIS hotel is it. Don’t hesitate, book it! You’ll love it and...
Read moreGreat little hotel in a quiet, authentic part of the old town. The room was compact but clean, with a very comfortable bed, and the terrace has a good view over the old Panayia Elpida Greek Orthodox church and Blue Mosque beyond. The staff were always friendly and helpful, especially Omar - who speaks very good English - and Sehzade, the night deskman.|The location couldn’t be much better for getting to the main sights, as the walk to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia only takes about 20 minutes. Also, the new rail service from Kumkapi – shown as T6 on the transport maps, but U3 at the stations – is just a 5-minute walk from the hotel. From there it’s one stop to the M2 metro line and ferry boats at Yenikapi, and two stops to the T1 tram line at Sirkeci. The underpass to the station also takes you to the shoreline promenade, which goes all the way to the city centre.|The Panayia Elpida church was closed most of the time but I was lucky to find it open one Monday morning, and it’s well worth a look. Turn left out of the hotel and the entrance is on Gerdanlik Sokak on the right, behind boarding. Also worth a look is the Armenian Church of the Patriarchate on Sevgi Sokak, which is a few blocks to the west of the hotel, off Molla Tasi Caddesi.|In the evening you’ll find one of the best restaurant quarters in the whole of Istanbul, where groups play traditional Turkish folk music at the tables. Again, turn left out of the hotel, right into Telli Odalar Sokak, left at the end and you’ll come to a small square with a fountain, which is the centre of the restaurant area. In the streets further east are highly-rated fish...
Read moreThe stay here was memorable. We were a family of 12 people - 6 adults, 3 teenagers and 3 children. Initially we booked 2 family rooms and a double room which turned out to be not enough. Upgrading to a triple room was hassle free. Staff is really friendly. The hotel is family-owned, so its not very formal. The view from the terrace is breathtaking, Bosphorus on one side, and view of the blue mosque and the city on the other side. Staff - Anna, Mariam and Sveltana - is very nice and friendly. They make you feel at home. Breakfast is wholesome and ingredients are so fresh. However if you are going for a long stay like us (we were there for a week), and from a country with a different cuisine, you might get tired of it :-))). Rooms have all the facilities you need, but its not very spacious. There is no routine cleaning of the rooms, but you can ask them to clean and they will do it perfectly . Rooms have refrigerator, kettle, TV etc. You have to buy water from outside, but its not a problem because there is a supermarket next door. There are a lot of restaurants in and around to explore. The terrace kitchen is also open to guests for making coffee, tea and quick snacks. The only downfall is the steep hill you have to walk to go to Sultan-Ahmed square and other places of interest. Incase you plan to depend on public transport like us, metro station is 20 minutes walk. Overall pretty nice experience and would love to comeback...
