I would not recommend this hotel to my friends or family.
From the start, the check-in experience was disappointing. The man at reception gave us no information about the hotel or area, and when we chose not to book our hot air balloon ride through him, he became visibly upset. He simply walked us to our room without offering to help with our luggage or showing us around the property.
The room itself was also a letdown. There was only one dim lightbulb for the entire room and another for the bathroom. The bathroom mirror light didn’t work, the rain shower head was broken, and water from the shower would seep out across the entire floor. Even worse, the power went out multiple times at night. Since my husband uses a CPAP machine, this was a serious problem. A hotel in this region should invest in a generator.
The beds were uncomfortable, and by the third night both of us had backaches. Housekeeping was also unacceptable. Fresh towels were never provided—our towels were simply folded and put back under the sink, even when I left them on the floor. By the third day, we were forced to reuse dirty towels, which was absolutely unhygienic.
Breakfast was just okay. Only one staff member was managing everything, which wasn’t nearly enough. At one point I tried to speak to a woman who was behind the staff area, only to find out she didn’t even work there—she ignored me and walked straight into the kitchen. Not very professional.
The pool was lukewarm at best—not heated enough to enjoy in the evening. And the terrace views that they advertise on Instagram are misleading. The rooftop area with the balloon views is not part of the hotel—you have to buy something from their café next door, and even then, the coffee was mediocre.
I did speak to the young man at reception about all of this at the end of our stay, and to his credit, he was professional and apologized deeply for everything. Unfortunately, that doesn’t take away the bad taste left by our experience. This is more than just a broken shower head or dirty towels—it’s about retraining the staff, hiring more people, and bringing the service level up to what guests expect in Cappadocia.
Overall, this hotel did not meet expectations in terms of comfort, service, or honesty in advertising. I regret not paying a little more to stay somewhere with better amenities and friendlier, more...

Read moreOur stay at A la Mode Hotel in Cappadocia was nothing short of amazing! The location is incredibly central, just a short walk to the Open Air Museum, and conveniently near the city center and a variety of great restaurants, making it easy to explore the area and enjoy local dining options.
The breakfast buffet was excellent, offering a wide variety of fresh and delicious options to start the day. The service was top-notch as well—the hotel staff were extremely helpful, even arranging a shuttle bus (at a fee) for us to and from the airport, making our arrival and departure seamless.
The views from the hotel terrace were absolutely breathtaking. We were able to enjoy stunning panoramas of hot air balloons floating over the fairy chimneys each morning—a truly unforgettable sight.
Though the rooms aren't in caves like some traditional Cappadocian hotels, they were large, modern, and beautifully appointed. The bathroom was fantastic, offering all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay.
The pool and garden area were another highlight, providing a perfect space to relax and enjoy the serene surroundings.
Overall, A la Mode Hotel exceeded our expectations, and we’d gladly stay here again on our next visit...
