To everyone out there I would like to Start of by saying WOW just WOW! To add to individual who wrote review about their stay in July of 2023, I would be giving specific examples as it's the little things that go a long way. They can leave an ever lasting positive or negative memory. So here it begins:|Me and my family (My Queen along with 3 princess and 2 lovely in laws who I call Dad and mom) arrived at Grand Cappadocia from touring Istanbul and then heading to Antalya from Cappadocia. I must say that in the beginning we all were a bit hesitant even after reading the awesome reviews as it being a 3 star hotel. We had decided not to stay anywhere less than 4 star but had a hard time finding one close to everything. The individual who received us at our arrival in the evening was super hospitable and efficient as if it was a team of attendees helping us and not this 1 individual. My Queen went up with him to make sure Parents were settled in their room and at that point she had asked him for an extra bed for our little one. She was literally back to our room in about 5 minutes and as she entered she was like DAMN the bed is already here. Trust me when I say this that it's not that easy to impress my queen but again like I said it's the little things that go a long way. After that it was just one thing after another that made our experience even more wonderful. The day before leaving I told the individuals working that we are departing next day and need transportation. Her first response to me was what would you like for breakfast to go as we were leaving at 7am and breakfast opens around 8/830am. Gave me options and even asked for our choices. I mean we have been traveling a lot and I haven't had one hotel ever offer me the mentioned service. |As I reached Antalya, I receive this WhatsApp message with picture of our belongings left behind mentioning the room cleaner food these. Asked what would you like us to do. First of all I was surprised that I even got a message as we had no idea what we had done with the belongings. My queen thought she left the stuff somewhere and the same with my princesses. So it was an awesome surprise and it was branded sunglasses, rings earrings. I asked if they could send it through courier and the response was sure. Lone behold I got my stuff in 2 days. Now if that's not service I'm not sure what is. All in all like the individual from July visit stated that it would be the first Choice of stay, same goes here and would be recommending to my friends and family members. Furthermore if you decide to book excursions, in my personal opinion I would highly advise to book it through them even though it might seem pricey than travel tourism agencies. My only regret is that I never asked there names as I would have like to address them in my review for the little things they did that has left a lasting impression on the...
Read moreI did not want a cave hotel, the predominant style of hotels in Goreme, due to claustrophobia of being without windows and the absolute need for an elevator . Plus the hotel had to be close to downtown restaurants, to avoid long walks and steep slopes, due to knee and feet issues. Nor did I care for a so so ambience . After much searching, I came upon this hotel: it has a lift to the rooms AND the rooftop terrace and breakfast area , is fairly new , and is very close to downtown. It has a pool, but it was not tempting due to outside temperatures in the 44 to 58 degrees Fahrenheit range. I loved the Suite room due to its spaciousness, several windows , and large bathroom with a hot tub. Sinan , the go to guy at the front desk, spoke and wrote impeccable English and we had several emails , wherein he helped setup the balloon ride, shuttles , and red tour. I am very happy with his guidance that we should do the balloon and tour on the first day. This way , if the balloon got canceled ( which it did) , I had another chance the next day. Their sitting area next to the lobby is well furnished, and it was cool to sit on the verandah outside and on the rooftop terrace. The breakfast was good and the servers were attentive to clearing up. In a nutshell: stay here , if caves are not your thing, and must have an elevator. I have read reviews of hotels that had ground floor rooms, but the guests had to go upstairs as those rooms were booked. There were other hotels that had an elevator, but you still needed stairs for the rooftop : you need the rooftop access for breakfast and to watch...
Read moreI recently stayed a the Grand Cappadocia Hotel from 9/15 to 9/19/23. We arrived late at night but got settled into our room quickly. The hotel had actually contacted us via WhatsAp prior to us arriving to see if we needed transportation from the Kayseri airport. Our flight was delayed and the hotel staff were very adaptable to our changes and still there was someone who met us at the airport with a sign with our name on it. A welcome sight at 10pm in a new city! They had sent a group taxi which is pretty common . It cost 690 Turkish lira (345 TL each) for two people which is about $25 US for two. Some other people we spoke with in the taxi only paid 250 TL ($18.50) for the same ride but it still seemed like a good price. Hassan who worked at the desk at night was extremely kind and helpful for our entire stay. Breakfast is on the rooftop level and you can choose to eat either indoors or out on the covered terrace. The daily breakfast is included with the hotel and has a great selection of food. They will make you fresh omelets which was appreciated. Hassan (different guy) who works at the breakfast was super friendly and helpful. If you get up by 6:15 AM you can go to the rooftop to see the hot air balloons flying over the city. It is a spectacular sight. The swimming pool was clean but at the time of year we were there it does not get overhead sun for much of the day. The room was spacious and room service was fine. Always had hot water in the shower. The location is great and it is easy to get to other places in Goreme from...
