Watching the sunrise from the highest viewpoint in Göreme, Cappadocia is pure magic. As the first golden rays spill across the unique fairy chimneys and valleys, dozens of hot air balloons begin to rise into the sky — it’s like stepping into a dream. 🌄✨
I arrived at the viewpoint early, around 4:30 AM, to secure a good spot. The air was crisp and calm, and anticipation filled the quiet morning. As the sky slowly shifted from deep blue to soft orange and pink, the first balloons lifted off — and then suddenly the sky was dotted with color. 🎨🎈
There’s nothing quite like it — panoramic views of the entire Göreme landscape, endless valleys, and whimsical rock formations, all glowing in the warm sunrise light. Every photo is postcard-worthy. 📸💫
For sunset lovers, the viewpoint is also fantastic in the evening. The setting sun casts dramatic shadows across the landscape, painting the rocks in fiery reds and golds. 🌇
Tip: Bring a blanket or jacket (mornings can be chilly!), some snacks, and a camera with a wide lens. Drones are common too, but check local regulations. 🚁🧥
This experience is a must for every traveler to Cappadocia — spiritual, cinematic, and unforgettable.
Don’t just see the sunrise...
Read moreMy mom and I had the most incredible experience with the hot air balloon ride in Cappadocia. The scenery from above is simply breathtaking and something we will never forget. As we ascended into the sky at sunrise, the unique landscape of Cappadocia with its fairy chimneys, rock formations, and valleys unfolded beneath us. The colors of the sky changing with the rising sun added a magical touch to the entire experience. The flight was smooth and serene, allowing us to take in the panoramic views and capture some amazing photos. Our pilot was very professional and provided interesting information about the area, which made the journey even more enjoyable. Seeing the dozens of other balloons floating in the sky with us was a sight to behold. It felt like being part of a beautiful, floating community. The landing was gentle, and we were welcomed with a celebratory glass of champagne, which was a lovely way to end the adventure. Overall, the hot air balloon ride in Cappadocia is an absolute must-do. It offers a unique perspective of one of the most stunning landscapes in the world and creates memories that will last a lifetime. We highly recommend this experience to anyone...
Read moreThey illegally charge tourists 5 lira. I asked to show their license or I’ll call a police. They don’t have any license and they only scream “PAY! Pay money!”. I refused to pay and just walked up the hill, angry man showed me middle finger and walked away (which only proves that it’s illegal). Don’t support these scammers. They earn money illegally (its even written on Wikipedia that it’s illegal and people should not support this dirty business). People have the right to walk freely uphill, it was free all years until 2021. I also noticed that they don’t charge Turkish people this fee and let them just go for free, they charge only foreigners.
Views are amazing!!! In April we woke up at 5:15 and walked uphill. Balloons were going up at 5:50. Get dressed very well, it’s very cold to stay there and watch. Sunrise was around 6:10 in...
