We were longing for an Indian meal after 3 weeks of having turkish meals. We decided to go to Namaste India. What a mistake! Where do I begin??? As you walk in its very hard to distinguish who the waiters/waiters are and customers are? No uniforms in place at all. They have a system where you order food online at the table using a QR code which can be used in Turkish or English however once you have added items to the cart and try to place an order the system stops english translation and is in Turkish again.. so then you have to try and guess that you have put your order through. You have to then find a waiter/waitress to confirm if you have actually placed an order or not?? Very frustrating. Prices are extortionate. I paid 2200turkish lira which is approximately £55 . I ordered butter chicken, chicken jalfrezi, 6 chapatis, bottle of water , 1 frozen pina colada and 1 passion fruit mocktails. The butter chicken and chicken jalfrezi were a small portion of meat with loads of sauce, very decieving! literally 4 big chunks of boneless chicken in a pre cooked sauce which was the same for both, the only difference being that the butter chicken sauce had cream and was a lighter colour than the jalfrezi apart from that it contained big chunks of onion, tomatoes and peppers and was not flavoursome at all. Both tasted the same! The chapatis were the size of a 4 year olds hand. We initially ordered 6 for 4 of us but had to order an extra 6 to stop ourselves from going hungry. The so called frozen mocktails were not frozen but infact were pure syrup with a few ice cubes, absolutely abismal!!! We did not have a good experience at all and were left disappointed and lacking a decent Indian meal. We have decided that the best to do when in a different country is to eat locally and food local to the country. The waiter assured us that the chef was Indian and we would not be disappointed however he was wrong. The building is nice but they have rented out the first floor for shish which spoils the whole ambience of the restaurant. I have tried to be as honest as possible and with the least...
Read moreNamaste India - Sounded great as I was missing some Indian taste as I’ve been away from home for a while. However, I was left disappointed yet satisfied.
Initially, the place was packed out, with no seating, so we queued up behind a family awaiting service outside the restaurant . However, random people (with no reservations) started jumping in front and into the shop and got seated before us, even though we went into the shop and spoke to two people, a guy in a red shirt and a guy who spoke English letting them know we need a table for 5.
After seeing 3 groups who came after us get seated before us, we finally got our table. The lady with glasses set the table nicely initially, however, she ran out of tissues to place my cutlery on (but she still had the cutlery in her hand). So she placed my cutlery on the table, which I know for certain was not cleaned properly. 3 minutes later she came back with a tissue, so that was another issue.
Then we ordered, the white, fair lady was lovely and took our order. The food wait took 45 minutes (however, the drinks (mango lassi) came in 5 minutes, and was cold/warm) - We saw people who ordered after us get their food before us, disappointing really…
Finally, the portion sizes are good, taste is good too, however… there is very VERY little substance in the curry. There were only 4/5 pieces of small/medium sized shrimp on the curry, and 5 pieces of small chicken in the butter chicken. Same situation with the lamb rojangosh. We explained this to the manager after requesting to talk to him, and he quite rudely said no, that’s how it is, and we can’t change it. After a discussion he settled, took back the bowl with curry and chucked 2 pieces of more chicken in the curry and brought it back in 1 minute.
Overall taste good,...
Read moreMy First Time Trying Indian Food – And I Loved Every Bite! During my visit to Göreme, I had the chance to try Indian food for the very first time — and let me tell you, it was an experience I won’t forget, all thanks to Namaste Indian Restaurant.
I started with the Butter Chicken, and I instantly understood why it’s such a popular dish around the world. The flavors were rich, creamy, and incredibly comforting. It was perfectly balanced — mildly spiced but full of depth. Paired with their fresh, fluffy naan bread, it was the ultimate combination. Honestly, I could’ve kept eating that forever!
But the real surprise for me was the Chilli Chicken — now this became my personal favorite. It was bold, spicy, and just bursting with flavor. Crispy yet tender, with that perfect blend of heat and sweetness — it’s something I think everyone should try at least once.
Aside from the food, the ambiance of Namaste Indian is on another level. The interior is stunning, with beautifully high ceilings and a spacious, inviting layout that makes you want to sit back and enjoy the moment. It’s unlike any other restaurant I’ve seen in Göreme — truly elegant and thoughtfully designed.
Whether you're new to Indian cuisine like I was or you're a longtime fan, Namaste Indian is the place to go. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is amazing, and the staff is warm and welcoming.
I can't recommend this place enough. If you're in Cappadocia —...
