Had such a lovely stay at Grassmoor Guest House, the owners were really friendly and welcoming, there was such a nice relaxed atmosphere it felt like being at home! The room was cosy and had lots of handy amenities, including a fridge with some fresh milk, toiletries - enjoyed the Keswick made shower gel, hand wash and body/hand lotion - a kettle/lovely mugs with a selection of hot drinks. To our delight there was even some home baking waiting for us! Comfy bed and quiet at night for a good night's sleep. There was a great selection of breakfast options, something to suit different morning appetites. Plus the food itself was delicious, good portions and quality local produce. The owners were very caring and attentive, lots of knowledge of local walks, recommended places to eat and things to do in Keswick, even some laminated popular route cards were available in the room if you wanted them. It's in a great location for walking and only about a 5 minute walk to Keswick centre and parking is free on the roads outside. We enjoyed our stay so much, made our weekend away from a busy city life such a treat....
Read moreI stayed here for three nights in early November 2023 with a friend, on a low season hillwalking trip. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the full English breakfast was excellent (in quality and quantity) - just the thing to set you up for a wild day on the hills. As a welcome detail, waste was reduced by providing things like cereal and marmalade in reusable jars rather than individual packets or plastic pots, with fresh milk (for tea) in a fridge in the room. Despite the mixed weather at this time of year, we managed to avoid any proper soakings, so I can't really comment on the drying facilities.||Parking is only available on-street, which was sometimes a bit inconvenient, but the location of the guesthouse is great - about five minutes' walk from the centre of Keswick. I'd happily stay here again - thoroughly...
Read moreMy wife and I booked here for a weekend in September. Our annual walking group weekend in The Lakes. Two friends stayed here at the same time. A warm welcome from Rob when we checked in. We were staying in Room 4 on the top floor. A huge room at the front of the building (nice view of Skiddaw). The room was very clean and well appointed. A huge comfy bed and a sofa and coffee table. Fresh milk in the fridge (located in the room), together with tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom was very modern with a nice hot shower (great after a day hiking). Breakfast (ordered the night before) offered a large choice. The food was excellent, fresh and served nicely by Shareen. Lots of extra coffee and toast. We really enjoyed our weekend in The Grassmoor. We'll be back...
