Got a reservation here over the weekend which was great considering it was really busy in Keswick at the weekend. The food was nice, the pizza crust was quite thick and dry and a bit difficult to cut with a knife and fork. The pizza wasn't bad at all, but not something I have had before. Menu was quite varied if you wanted something other than pizza. Atmosphere was bustling as it's quite a small space with the oven in the middle of restaurant. As with most places in Keswick, the food and drinks are expensive. A calzone was 19£ and a pint of peroni was £6.50. Our bill was £60 for 1 starter, 2 pizzas, a side of chips and a pint of juice each.

Great food, can't fault it! Our steaks were delicious and perfectly cooked, and portion size was good. Service seemed a bit slow and unstructured, and although there appeared to be plenty of front of house staff, it took at least 10mins to get a jug of water and 2 glasses of wine when our order was taken. My husband was struggling with the heat in the restaurant and was keen to have a drink of water to help cool him down. It was a busy time when we visited, but felt that service could have been a bit more efficient. Saying that, we had a great meal celebrating our wedding the previous day, and we will go back when we are next in Keswick.

So, you think pizza, you think wood stone, you think fresh… I could honestly get this pizza in the oven from Asda or any other named supermarket. No biased reviews here!! £29 for 2 margarita pizza’s… I get Keswick is a bit “posh” and usually that comes with the price and location being in the Lake District but that is no excuse for the quality of this pizza. Look at the base, the cheese, the sauce. Nothing about this screams good pizza. Genuinely one of the most disappointing pizzas I’ve had in a long while. Sorry to be harsh, had it have been cheaper I’d say fair enough but the price point vs quality and size of product is so far off.

I ordered 2 dishes: a double cheeseburger with "All Salad" and garlic sauce with a side of fries, and a "Kebab" which contained massive chunks of lamb meat, large cuts of chips, and peas. It was also supposed to contain a side salad and a dip of garlic sauce.

The salad didn't arrive for both orders, the dips didn't either (this was to takeaway). So I was left with what was shown on the picture that I sent; Dry massive chunks of cut up spuds, massive chunks of lamb and some peas randomly thrown in, what does that give us? A kebab ! Yes this is this joints kebab. £13.50 for this. While the other meal contained... legit frozen chunks of spuds. The "cheese"burger had little to none cheese in there and the salad inside of it? Two pieces of the end of a lettuce. Also, there were no dips added to it despite the fact that I added them to both meals. I would also like to add I waited a long while even though there were 4 people from this restaurants team there. 1 was polishing glasses, 2 were talking to each other and 1 was trying to look as if she was doing something. Maybe she was. 1 things for sure that one came up to me and no apologies for me for waiting, no apologies for 10 minutes of lateness for the order, nothing. Just wanted the details and thats it. I waited another 5 minutes outside because of corona house rules and then I was served this utter trash. I could have checked outside all my orders on the pavement like a homeless man, but unfortunately I had to run back to the car park. You'll get better food...

After a long day walking, we were looking for somewhere to get a takeaway and bring food back to our hostel. This was one of the two Italians in Keswick that the staff at the hostel advised we tried. Having checked the menu online, we had made our choices and attempted to make an order online. Unfortunately, the website did not allow me to add a payment card, so I ended up calling to make an order instead. I didn’t realise it at the time, but this saved us a 50p booking fee for online orders.

Once I had ordered, our food was ready for collection within about 15 minutes. I was advised during the phone call that it would take 10 minutes, but I thought that sounded a bit quick so 15 minutes sounds like a more sensible time to cook a pizza.

The food was ok, but could have done with some improvement. While it all tasted good, I’ve had better tasking Italian takeaways elsewhere. However, the Woodstone pizza was still greatly appreciated ad it was the only Italian takeaway that responded to my phone calls.

In summary, Woodstone has good food but can...

We booked online several weeks before we came to the Lake District as we know this is a very popular eatery. When we arrived, our table was ready for us and the server came to take our order for drinks and food after only a couple of minutes which is very good. However, she start the kitchen did manage to lose our order so we had a little bit longer to wait which rusted matter as we were having a great chat at the time. The food that did come was excellent. The pizzas were flavoursome beautifully cooked and very hot. The spaghetti Bolognese was sublime. They had a choice of chunky chips or fries both of which were lovely. We were offered a significant discount because of the extra wait we had, but we gave this as a tip to the waitress because she clearly was upset she he made the mistake and the whole team pull together to get our meal out quickly. Now the summer season is out of the way. I’m sure they’ll be more tables available earlier, but there’s usually tables available later on after 8:30 pm Will definitely go back for more pizzas and book early...
