This is a decent hotel, a strong 3-star and that is it. It’s right next to the train station and large car park. There’s also a large taxi rank, on the same road. The hotel staff are lovely, very friendly and quick to sort things out, on the whole. We stayed 3 nights as a group of five. The breakfast was included, which consisted of two paper bags, one with a cooked sandwich in and one with berries, pain au chocolat, apple juice, granola and cutlery and napkins. For £11 this is bad value. You do get a few Costa coffee drinks vouchers to use at the bar though. The breakfast sandwich was horrible so I left mine, my partner is vegetarian so he left his because they ignored the request for a veggie one, then once we complained they replaced it. You pick a time, they then knock on the door and hand it to you. We cancelled the two remaining breakfasts, they then refunded us with a drink credit to use at the bar because money would be a problem to send us? The two remaining mornings we were woken by the two breakfasts that we cancelled, waking us at 8am after a heavy night was not pleasant. They left it at the door anyway? Which is just wasteful. Clearly the kitchen isn’t talking to the front of house. The room was decent but not clean- dusty shelves in the “cupboard”, dust in the air vent of the toilet which looked horrible. The carpet was covered with stains and the shower was ok but poor water pressure. The air conditioning was good, but with only lamps to switch on, the room could have been brighter. As far as comforts go, you get a kettle, two waters, tea & coffee, two biscuits and that’s it. Iron and board if you want it and no safe for valuables. The mask policy was absolutely not enforced here, other residence walking around without being approached, which I disliked. The bar is nice if the staff see you, because it is so large, they miss you when you sit down in their very deep settees. Power outlets are there next to you and WiFi to. This hotel is not going to win any awards but it is decent and has great transport links.

I stayed here for one night as part of a work trip. Overall, it was a good stay without any significant issues. I checked in around 8pm and there was a payment issue with the prepaid corporate card. The check in staff did their best to resolve as quickly as possible but this did cause a queue whilst they were trying to check myself and another colleague in. A few other guests had to wait and I was surprised at the lack of apology to them or thanks for waiting. The room itself was good. It was on the 5th floor but was close enough to the lifts that I could hear the motor going up and down; ear plugs solved this. The heating control worked initially to cool the room but then began showing an error message. It was late and I knew the hotel was full so I left it. It did mean it was a warm night though. There were plenty of pillows and there was also a magazine to read. I echo the comments of previous guests about the size of the shower. As a larger person, it was a squeeze to get in but once inside, I was fine and had a typical shower. The bathroom cleanliness was good but there was some limescale build up on the shower door. Breakfast was a bit of a disaster. I arrived at 8am and assumed I should wait to be seated but no one came to do so. I instead just sat down but I wasn’t approached by staff to check. The breakfast was limited for those with dietary needs. In the hot food section, there were only pork sausages and bacon. No veggie or vegan option. I ended up having potato slices. There was only one choice of dairy free milk, Almond, which doesn’t work for those with nut allergies. I’m lactose intolerant too sadly so black tea it was. On the plus side, my colleague confirmed the coffee was good and there was a wide range of cereals to choose from. I had an issue with my room key, but the team were quick to resolve and were very friendly. Check out was great. Just click the link on your email and pop the key in a drop box before you go. Overall, I’d stay again but hope the breakfast improves.

Please provide guests with a purified water refill station 🙏 Asked for quieter room and got the one facing the courtyard. Nice crisp sheets, uncomfortable pillows stuffed with thick pressed cotton?? No fluffiness. But on the plus side, windows open partially for fresh air, and AC vents looked clean, as well as worked well. First room had no cheap air freshener smell which was great! They have paraben free shampoo and handwash which was nice. Breakfast was one step up from the crappy ones they offer at Holiday Inn Express but still short of the quality offered at Asian hotels. No fridge in room but asked and they brought me one. Note: Front desk does not answer the phones and front desk service is not warm. Also our toilet seat was broken (when you sit on seat, it slides to right, but they replaced with new seat) and there were old dried pee stains on floor. No matter how much I tried to clean it up, the urine smell would not disappear. I checked behind the toilet and it was disgusting. Spoke to front desk and Simo** had a bit of an attitude with me. No apologies, she appeared annoyed and was defensive in dealing with the issue despite me telling her we have booked 2 rooms, which for the time period is over £1000. But she did offer me to change rooms. Another reviewer mentioned her terrible attitude and I am unsure why they continue to employ someone who is frosty, does not smile, and has a haughty attitude?? She is not suited for the front desk. The other room had newly caulked bathroom floors and had no urine smell but as others said, had spotty cleaning and cheap air freshener smell. Would I stay here again? Maybe…

The people at the reception, at breakfast and at the bar were excellent.

However, they do not tell you in advance about the parking arrangements. Since there is no obvious place to park when you get there, I had to park in front and get out of the car to ask at the reception and while I was doing so, I got a parking ticket. Unbelievable!

Our room wasn't available for a few hours after we got there, which was already a few hours after it was supposed to be available, and they offered us a cup of coffee.

They begrudgingly offered drinks when I insisted.

The keys to the doors, which are like plastic credit card, were deactivated after every use. Since you couldn't take the elevator up to your room, get into your room or get anything in the room to work without a key, it was a MAJOR inconvenience. To add insult to injury, they receptionist made it seem like it was your fault for putting the key in contact with a cell phone or metal item (like no one has those things in their pockets). It was a major pain.

Housekeeping was very poor. Most of them did not speak any English, or very little, so it was difficult to interact with them. They did not do the room one day and another day, after making up the beds, they left the pillows on the floor.

Lastly and most gallingly, after all that, they make you check out online for speedy exit. You do not get a receipt. I have asked for my bill twice and when I asked for the second time, they impatiently replied that they had forwarded my request to the proper department who would reply ("Kindly note that we have forwarded this to the appropriate department and we will get back to you as soon as we have received a response from them."). That was 10 DAYS AGO and I have heard nothing from them since that time.

Providing a bill for services is a legal obligation that they appear not to be aware of or care about.

A little piece of advice: if your look at their website and think you are booking at the property on the beach front, make sure that there is no confusion. The website showed all signs that this was where we were booking and we ended up behind the train station up a very long hill, which did not do my 84-year-old mother any good.
