Visited the 'Alcampo Lounge' a couple of weeks ago with the family. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised by the ELABORATE array of various decorations of numerous quirky fashions. However the restaurant seemed to be lacking in atmos regarding its guests - it was DEAD A DODO..? Despite this ... Service was speedy and exceeded expectations, with friendly staff going ABOVE AND BEYOND, albeit a few minor mishaps here and there. Our table was decorated with inviting red candles, which was a nice touch. (We booked - although it really wasn't necessary). The food was above par - deliciously succulent burger accompanied by SCRUMMY fries, the best I've eaten ... in a while. HOWEVER, much to my disgust, upon further inspection, I noticed that the burger was medium-rare - NOT TO MY TASTE. No wonder it came out so quickly... They must've showed it the oven and decided it was cooked...! But, by the time I had spotted it, I had already devoured over half of the blasted thing. This had disastrous affects on my guts later on, it played HAVOC with my IBS. Nevertheless, I enjoyed my main course and moved swiftly on (but not as swiftly as my bowel movements) to the dessert menu. I ordered an ice cream sundae which was DELECTABLE. My companions ordered the 'chorros'.. BUT to my astonishment they only gave us ONE...!? As if they could fluff our experience up any more ...? Upon confrontation, they confessed they had RAN OUT OF THE CHORROS, tight fiends...?! They took the money and ran..! Conniving scoundrels ... Luckily they reconciled their sketchy error by offering us a dessert on the house. Thanks Alcampo..! 😃👍 I should think so too, we paid for it ...? Despite all hiccups, lovely experience, would consider gracing the staff with my presence in the near future ... 🤔 P.S... spectacular bogs ..! I should know I spent a good chunk of my evening in there. 😃👍

Nice place with nice food and great service...another place that is super thoughtful about celiacs. One of those ones that gets the manager to take your order etc. Been a couple of times and will do friend meet ups here. Edited 21 sept 25 (now go with friends often). It can be a little loud for me. The staff are really nice so I like it here also there are treats and water for our little Hugo 🐕 Note Some nights they have very loud music Which for me does not fit. Background music live background music is good. Also not impressed with the burgers. Got a 20 pound burger, cuz not eaten all day. See pictures you tell me if you think it's a 20 pound burger and tell me if you really think there's much difference between the 20 pound burger and the 15 pound burger.... definitely dropped to ok from like accept the staff are fantastic. So had a response to the 20 pound burger Well well Gluten free menu Gf Diablo smash burger 17.95 Extra patty 3.45 Total £21.40 Hmmm so £21.40 burger With sweet potato fries £22.40 meal 🫶🏼 See pics .... We are a blonde girl but just saying. To add to this, have taken to their brunch sausage and egg muffins with two hash browns. THIS IS GLUTEN FREE AND SEEMS TO BE COELIAC FRIENDLY FOR ME AS A COELIAC. We have really enjoyed this now on the couple of visits 😋 so up to ⭐⭐⭐⭐as we like this place and go often because of the dog friendly, coeliac friendly and my boyfriend likes it too ❤️ So on 21 sept 25. We went in to do some coursework and as standard the staff are super friendly and lovely. To day they just went that extra extra bit in being top staff people. Love them for being inclusive, kind and real genuine good people. 100% recommend this place. ☺️

Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, dog-friendly, plenty of seats and lots of vegan options. I had bang bang cauliflower noodles (which were amazing!) and my partner had the Lounge breakfast (non-vegan) - the bacon and the egg were cold, the other ingredients varied from warm to cold, there was no butter for the toast, it was very disappointing after waiting for half an hour for our food. I suspect they were waiting for all the food we ordered to be cooked so they can bring it all together, which meant some got cold in the process. It's a nice place so I wouldn't say stay away but maybe tell the staff to bring things as they are ready rather than wait for all part of the order to avoid eating cold food!

Was there on the 18th December 2023 for a Christmas get together. We were told to order our food a week in advance, which is fine. Though on the day unsure why, no place cards so sat anywhere. The servers would come out shouting out whatever dish they had in hand. Which some people couldn't remember what they ordered. It means the orgsniser of the group trying to direct where the food is going. Which means the organiser is unable to enjoy the festivities. The tapas wasn't really enough to go around and weren't great for sharing.

The main meal wasn't really Christmas themed.. Unless you count the one pigs in blanket on top of the Turkey and Ham Pie. There was only two sprouts with the veg. The Christmas Burger was chicken, could it not be turkey burger. I think the vegetarian/ vegan option was a cheese and onion pie.. Mushroom Wellington would be a better option.

My partner found a bit of plastic in the middle of Turkey and Ham pie, so he left more than half.. Though thankfully they didn't charge him for his meal and he got a free complimentary glass of red wine. It didn't stop me finishing my meal (Not sure what that says about me), I told him to go the server without bringing too much attention because didn't want to put other people of eating.

When it came to paying there was confusion, people left at different times and paid has they left. When it came to the last person there was three meals that hadn't been paid. The server wouldn't allow us to leave until we settled. It took over 30 minutes to resolve, many messages and calls to see who had paid/ who hadn't paid. In the end it appeared that everyone paid, they found the missing monies in the reserves. So all of this left a bitter taste in what was meant to be an enjoyable evening.

Big venue but wasn't busy so unsure how to excuse the poor service. I guess better planning on their behalf and for our party next year a better venue.

I know plenty of plenty of people that like this venue and say the food is good. So maybe an unfortunate day for us.

21.12.23 The response to my review was pretty poor, for that if I could take away the one star I would. I do not remember the staff having a good laugh with us all. Secondly the whole contesting of the bill was very distressing. Having to call and message everyone to make sure who paid. Which in the end everyone had paid but it was a mistake by your staff processing payment. So if we had a good night it was ruined from...

first time eating here. entered and saw the sign saying to wait to be seated, so i waited for 10 mins before just walking to the bar. ordered the big lounge breakfast and pint of diet coke. the coke was definitely not a pint (at best maybe 3/4 of a pint) and VERY over priced (could buy a 2lt and 1lt bottle for the same price), crazy. the food came out pretty quickly (5-8 mins). the sausage was horrible, tasted like it was off. the one mushroom was cold and soggy/wet like i had been sitting in barely lukewarm water. the hash browns had a weird taste (not a fresh taste) but at least they were really hot (almost burnt my mouth hot). asked for the bacon to be crispy so the rind was crisp and not chewy, but it came out still chewy. asked for the eggs to be cooked both sides with the yolk not left runny, and that is how they came out, but covered in oil and also in a ton of pepper which ruined the eggs. the fried tomatoes came out cold but at least looked good. the baked beans came in a small metal pot and were on the cold side, and had that kinda hard crustiness to them like they had been left in the open for a couple days. i never got to try the toast so cant comment on that. i barely even managed to eat half of the breakfast and i had to go to the bathroom and throw up and for the rest of the day i was throwing up. ive NEVER eaten food so bad at any cafe or restaurant and NEVER thrown up after eating a meal. £15 for this breakfast is way to much, considering the extremely POOR quality of the food and another £7 for the 2 drinks. for this kind of price, i would expect a MUCH higher standard than i received. needless to say, i will NEVER be going back there to eat again. and to be honest, the ONLY good thing about my experience at this place, was the member of staff behind the bar who took my order. he was polite and took my order quickly. i wish i could give 0 stars overall but unfortunately...
