It’s all about service, really. That and great value, but first and foremost, service. On Thursday my DAC that I bought from Richer Sounds on-line in March failed on one input. I go to the website and fill in the all the details of where the issue lies, how I’ve eliminated cables, etc and other inputs and settings, and that there is no doubt that something has gone pop inside the DAC overnight.
Within ten minutes, I get an email from Richer Sounds saying to take it to my local branch and they will sort me out, so I find a moment to go the next day.
Friday, and Rosie at the Brighton store takes my box, printed-out email with all the details, and disappears for a few minutes, then comes back and says it is now all in hand and that they’ll try and sort me out by Monday. Fair enough, it’s long beyond the 30 day swap-out period. I’ll get emailed a confirmation for receipt and a repair booked in by the time I get home. Any other shop and they’d have me explaining again what I’ve tried, how I’m sure it isn’t a cable, what is my contact number and email, where is the receipt, but no – Rosie has been through the emails and has taken the trouble to understand that all the details are there, set out. This alone is a refreshing change from any other shop I have ever been to, and at 62, I’ve been to a lot, and I leave very happy that it didn’t take more than a couple of minutes and everything is now underway. Very impressed with the efficiency.
Saturday morning and I want to play some music, as I do every day, so I consider fixing up my ratty old Chinese £19 DAC off eBay to get me through the weekend, but no, I have a text. Richer Sounds tell me that a delivery driver will arrive between 1.00 and 2.00pm with my new DAC. Today.
Seriously, this degree of service explains why we all love Richer Sounds. The business is great, and the staff are efficient and intelligent, and I am reminded why I am a loyal customer and will always buy from them if I possibly can. Sometimes, it’s easy to forget how important service is, because things do not often go wrong, but when they do, you want to be here.

Read moreIve been using Richer Sounds for many years. You just cannot beat the service. This afternoon i Entered the Brighton store and was greeted by Minty (what a great name). I was on the fence to purchase the new Samsung Q990F soundbar or go with a dedicated A/V setup with separate speakers. He asked what my typical use scenario was which was a LG Oled and a Xbox Series X so i needed 120hz HDMI 2.1 passthrough and dolby vision for gaming plus HDR10. With some great advice my best solution was to go for the Soundbar which i did. Unfortunately as this product is quite new there was no local stock and no one wants to way 3-5 days delivery so i made the purchase and he upgraded me to next day Saturday Delivery and the icing on the cake being a VIP member (which is totally free just sign up) he not only matched a rival company he took a bit more money off as this soundbar is not cheap. And currently samsung will give me £300 back after 30 days. Moral of this story is, if you want great customer service and not feel like your being rushed to make a decision go to Richer Sounds. You will not get this service if you buy online. Many thanks again Minty you legend and also to the manager and the other staff member who were very friendly considering i had my special needs child with me and she was being a tiny bit loud but they just accepted this and moved on. Read moreOn recommendation of a friend I started coming here about 15 years ago and have been coming here ever since for anything stereos/televisions etc The staff are always very helpful, knowledgeable and genuinely seem to care. They are also unhurried which I like a lot. Yesterday my dealings with them seemed to represent all of my experiences in one go. This is what happened......... I decided to buy a HD freeview box (to go with my Smart telly) so I called them to check the one I wanted was in stock. They realised the one I had selected was actually for a Freesat set-up and so redirected me. They then reserved a Humax HD freeview box which I duly picked up. It was reconditioned. After an hour of trying to get the thing to work and after calling Richer Sounds and Humax to get help, Andre at Richer Sounds suggested I return the Box to them. When I did this I spoke about the bother it had been - having spent 10 mins on the phone to an 0844 number. The assistant manager Andre quickly remedied this by upgrading me to a brand new Humix 1Terra-bite model which was actually £70 more expensive than the model I had previously purchased. Very happy ! So thanks to Graham who had helped, the guys on the Richer Sound help-line and Andre for quickly recognising that I am an extremely loyal, long term customer that will do his shopping with them for the next 15 years too.
