Stayed at Lockholme Bed & Breakfast in Kirkby Stephen late May during our coast-to-coast hike, and it was fantastic. Chrissie and Joe Halsall, the hosts, were super friendly and made us feel at home. The room was nice and spotless; we had a two-bed suite. It's right in town, a short walk to restaurants, and located directly on the coast-to-coast trail. They have a lot of experience accommodating hikers, including an area to dry off wet clothing and boots. Aside from their hospitality and friendliness, Chrissie and Joe prepared a very tasty homemade lunch. We really enjoyed the homemade shortbread biscuits. The homemade breakfast was also excellent, with plenty of delicious options to start the day. Overall, we couldn't have been happier with the hospitality, friendliness, room, and meals. We highly recommend Chrissie and Joe’s Lockholme B&B for both hikers and vacationers alike. And Joe – thank’s for sliding us into that 8:01 AM breakfast slot 😆

We stayed for two nights with Chrissie and Joe while walking Wild Boar Fell. Lockholme is a real home from home and Chrissie and Joe are so welcoming. The rooms are cozy and fresh and spotlessly clean. The bathrooms are amazing and have been done to a really high standard - the showers are amazing! I sent Chrissie an email ahead of time saying that we are vegetarian with mostly vegan in our diet - she made us a vegan lemon drizzle cake for tea on arrival and a vegan banana cake the next day. We had almond milk with everything, vegan bread, vegan breakfast - nothing was too much trouble. It's a really nice and cozy breakfast around a family table getting to meet the other guests, some walkers, C2C walkers and other Kirkby Stephen visitors. Would thoroughly thoroughly recommend Lockholme.

We arrived at Chrissie and Joe's beautiful B&B and knew straight away we were in for an unforgettable and fun stay. Their wonderful personalities, wide ranging interests, welcoming nature and genuine care for their guests, makes it feel as if you are staying with friends and family. They know the local area well giving lots of helpful recommendations about Kirby Stephens and surrounding area. The breakfast was exceptional and my porridge was made with love and humour evident by the berrie face on top of my oats!!!! Herwig biscuits baked by Chrissie saw us through stormy weather on the next leg of our coast to coast. The accommodation is of a very high standard and super clean. We loved our stay and food so much we popped in on our way home to buy the award winning marmalade that Chrissie makes to raise money for charity. We would recommend lockholme to anyone on their walking adventures...just make sure you have a little bit of extra time to chat and get to know these wonderful people....

We had a wonderful two-night stay at Lockholme Bed and Breakfast in Kirkby Stephen. From the moment we arrived, Chris and Joe were the perfect hosts—warm, welcoming, and full of local knowledge.||Our room was lovely, with a huge and incredibly comfortable bed that made for a great night’s sleep. The hot shower was a real treat after a long day of walking, and the view from our room was just stunning, looking out towards the Nine Standards Rigg. We were lucky to have amazing weather for our walk, which made the experience even more special.||Breakfast each morning was delicious, with a great selection to start the day off right. It was fresh, beautifully presented, and just what we needed before heading out to explore.||Chris and Joe really go above and beyond to make sure their guests have everything they need. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would highly recommend Lockholme to anyone visiting the area. We’ll...
