The Jolly Farmers is a thriving Guest House and deservedly so. Based in Kirkby Stephen, it's a natural base for the Coast to Coast walk, situated between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. We stayed at the beginning, mid-point and end of the walk. Each time, Carol made us and all the other guests swirling in and out both welcome and prepared for their next journey. Read moreIn total stayed here for 3 nights whilst walking the coast to coast together with my wife and our dog Boris. On each occasion the reception we received from the owner Carol was excellent as was the quality of each stay. Carol goes above and beyond what would be expected during such a stay to the point where she never seems to stop. And yet she will continue to do whatever she can to help you. From the delicious scones and cup of tea upon arrival, to the excellent breakfast, advice about where to eat in and around Kirkby Stephen, the quality and spaciousness of the room we couldn’t fault this accommodation. Before we had even arrived Carol had offered to store the dog food we required for the second part of the walk so that we could replenish as we reached Kirkby Stephen. |Special mention as well to the ladies who help out during breakfast who were also lovely. |I would have no hesitation at all in recommending The...

We can't thank owner Carol enough for our last minute booking (on a Bank Holiday weekend!), welcomed with good conversation, tea and home made scones. Comfortable room immaculately appointed, with incredible attention to detail. Everything you could need was on hand. We arrived with bicycles which Carol securely locked away for us. The breakfast was outstanding, included in the price of the room. Delicious, copious choice and excellent quality. Catered for our vegetarian diets, and served up ample portions. We look forward to returning next time we cycle in the area. Many thanks for a fabulous,...
