if youre looking for a budget friendly hotel in LONDON. I would recommend Bob W. ✨ the location was perfect, very close to Hyde Park. My biggest down marker was the no aircon - it was 27 degrees in London yesterday so was quite uncomfortable to sleep! Would be fine in Autumn to Spring though. Price was £122 for 1 night #bobwhydepark #bobw #londonhotel #hotelroomtour #londonhotelrecommendation

The experience at BOB W was poor, with events that made you question the safety and comfort of your stay, as well as this company’s practices. First: they do not provide cleaning services unless paid for extra (£30+ per day), there’s no staff on-site (self service property) and they keep somewhat hidden or hard to access certain amenities of the room you get, many being at -1, underground, with either small or no windows, where even outside access available (directly from the street, not having to go through the inner building). What’s a core issue here is that they are not transparent and you cannot easily know these details before making your decision and booking, you just learn the after when the trip is in sight and you get your checkin details. All, for prices that are equal, or sometimes higher compared to regular Hotels where the above are no-brainers. Second: their cleaning, ventilation and maintenance are poor, with mold setting up in the bathrooms. Third: we had an issue where water started pouring from the room above. The guests there were having shower and the poor integrity of the building made it easy for the overflowing water to reach our room, spread over the bed and flood things at 00:00 during the night. Imagine having to wake up hearing rainy sounds, only to realise you’re getting flooded. Fantastic and relaxing experience. Of course, there was no on on site, online support was useless and we had to take care of catching and throwing away the water ourselves, even to reach the guests upstairs and negotiate what they’s done and that they should stop… showering 🫤 as to now flood us more. We were informed via support channels that we’ll get a reimbursement for this and, after many follow-ups and assurances it’s being worked on, after 4 weeks from the trip, they now say it’s not with them, we have to figure it out with Booking.

This felt like a bait & switch. From the moment we entered I regretted the booking. Great location and price after that it was artificially handled- probably AI generated. Difficult to get into what felt like a hostel. I communicated concerns immediately only to get pleasant responses (AI). The smell from the sewage felt awful & while it was cool outside it felt stinky, and hot inside. Attached is my communication. Please look further for a place to stay and don't be fooled by the pictures and price. Yoga mats are provided but what a joke... there isn't a place to open your luggage let alone do yoga.

The beds were comfortable but everything here is super cramped and the awful smell is coming from the toilet. The motion light going down the stairs activates after the hardest part of the stairs where it's tricky to step (curve with different widths). Thought I'd share before I share with others. Magdolna • 1h ago Oh please, we really appreciate the honest comments on each stay! And, I know taking the time to share with us directly is not something happens often, so thank you for it! I'll make sure our local team is aware of it 🙏 Bob • 1h ago I loved the self check in etc but definitely do not love not having anyone here to physically respond to concerns. If I were staying anywhere else I probably would have had a room switch. Fortunately I'm known for my positive reviews and because I research places extensively I am rarely disappointed. Magdolna • 1h ago Oh, I understand! 🙏 Our online team is always here and if possible we can also do room changes, this is so difficult to manage when we are fully booked when the need comes and I'm sorry we couldn't make the change possible this time 🙏 Bob • 1h ago

We arrived 9am June 18th to store luggage, as we had paid extra for an early 12pm checkin. Housekeeping was on site, and explained they have some storage locations available offsite, but I didn't get specifics. They offered to store our luggage for us until the room was ready. Unlike the BobW we had previously stayed in Helsinki, the BobW Hyde Park location doesn't have self-service storage onsite.

When we arrived back just before noon, housekeeping had already taken our three luggage to our 4th floor room (5th floor US). It's important to note that there is no lift. Having just arrived after a nine hour flight, that service was very much appreciated.

We had upgraded to the "Comfy" room, which was more spaceous with a good size desk that would provide enough space to work. As with our previous Bob W experience the room was clean.

When we walked into the building, the first thing I noticed was the hallway temperature. It was warm and I was thinking that's ok, as I'm not sleeping in the hallway. Little did I know...

The outside temperature on June 18th when we arrived at our room was 23.8C/75F. The high temperature on June 18th would hit 28C/82.4F. Unfortunately, the inside temperature was well above that. Our room was on the top floor with westerly facing windows. The sun had already begun hitting that side of the building. The windows were already set to the max opening of about 4 inches and wasn't wide enough to get much airflow to cool off the room. The two provided fans were not designed to pull external air, and were only circulating the air within the room. I did manage to lodge a fan against the window that helped slightly, but my wife was already showing signs of heat exhaustion.

Bob W uses WhatsApp to communicate, and I contacted them about the heat and needing to switch to a cooler room. They said they were fully booked and would inform the team and let us know the next day. We couldn't wait for just the possibility of an option and booked another hotel for the next two days of our stay. I informed BoB W management that first night we would be checking out in the morning.

The following morning, as we were waiting for our Uber, a Bob W guest we had met during our initial check-in was outside. They were on the floor below us, in an easterly facing room. They were only able to get about four hours of sleep due to the heat. Since they were only there one more night, they were opting to stick it out.

It would be valuable for Bob W management to experience a stay in their rooms when the temperature is going to be higher than 24C/75F. Maybe then they would truly understand and resolve the issue.

Had we been refunded the two remaining nights, I would have been satisfied. But we had to pay for an additional hotel with air conditioning just to recuperate from that one night stay.

I do not recommend staying at Bob W Hyde Park if the temperature is going to be over 70F outside, as the temperature inside will be a great deal warmer and likely to...

This is my first review of a hotel. I have spent over 100 nights in hotels so far in 2024/2025, and this was by far the worst. The concept is good in theory, but you cannot remotely deal with things like being locked out (as was the case with TWO of the guests I ran into during my 15-hour stay); boiling hot room with NO kind of airflow, a window that will only open 6" and a broken small, inadequate "air pusher"; being trapped in the entry corridor because there is no signal or WiFi available to actuall access your door codes and toggles; and most disruptively, noise that was so loud, thumping, stomping, heavy thuds, it sounded as though peole were moving furniture and this went on until after 1 am then started up again at 7 am. I slept for less than 5 hours under these circumstances. You can get through via the chat on the "app," but they will just offer apologies--because an app cannot physically help.||So many things were bad, or went wrong, with so many of us there yesterday, that it would be funny--but I boarded a 12-hour flight on very little sleep that had real consequences. Whoever is on the human end of the app was responsive and apologetic, but when I asked for them to consider a partial refund, I got a "nope". To me, this was legally negligent — I had one of the worst nights I have ever had traveling in their hotel, directly due to their issues and inadequacies. I will never* stay in a Bob W again and feel compelled to warn people about how this sort of stay can go here. ||It looks cute, the location is great, but the full self-service features ONLY WORK if their technology works and their hotel is adequately appointed, which this is not--certainly not my room (203). And it was not inexpensive. You are far better off booking somewhere with at least one living person to help out with these things, and there are hundreds of places close by that also have good airflow or air conditioning...
